frank-123 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 whrere were the unc racing from and what time did the liberate?
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 UNC were racing from Huntingdon on Saturday - two liberations 8.30am and 8.45am. However Durham combine and West Durham I think were also at the same race point, liberations starting as early as 7.25am.

Guest Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 doc when they see your wallpaper they'l be glad to go lol will you take the nehu one i'v got?? took it 20 miles and the bloody thing came back.
frank-123 Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 clockman was it first back? as square peg says put it in the stock loft
Guest Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 Jimmy, wondered if it wouldn't be worthwhile holding on to the birds till Friday 12th? All of the east coast route Scottish feds will be down on North Tyneside next Saturday. Maybe put them down on the P/lands or M/lothn transporter for release at first light Saturday 13th?
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 Bruno, you should know that birds cannot go on transporters without their vaccination certificates, so I would say that is a no-no. Incidentally, we in the North East of England got many birds in from last Saturdays Cheltenham race - Manchester - Liverpool, west coast. What is happening - don't you think that there is something terribly wrong ? I got two in from that race, one Monday which was put up Thurs at Bradford over 70 miles away, and came back to my loft and one came in on Wednesday - but no race rubber. Both wing stamped incidentally. Both liberated at Manchester airport this morning, I know one has arrived home at his own loft.
Guest Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 Redcheqhen would think it a fairly simple matter of posting on vaccination certs, the main difference being cost: 32p for a cert against £20 for a pigeon. Incidently, bit of pot & kettle in your post: not allowed to liberate pigeons within 5 miles of airports? Agree with you that there sure is a problem.
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 Happened to bump into someone who was picking a passenger up from Manchester airport yesterday. I get your drift about that one, Surely the liberation of pigeons within 5 miles of an airport is to do with races, not the odd stray ones. But as I didn't liberate personally, don't know how close. Trying to do people a favour, you don't agree with then ? Transporters here will not transport any birds other than race birds for the clubs. Not even our own union strays, or that is what I have heard.
jimmy white Posted May 8, 2006 Author Report Posted May 8, 2006 3 birds reported one phone call,???,,however the 3 birds are being liberated 1 at morpeth and the other 2 newcastle,, thanks to john lamb [hopefully tues or possibly wed the weather was terrible today to let any off [sunday] thats a week ive had them in a basket fed well, vits in water, and theve never seen out [ i hope the other 2 fanciers realise they could have been suspended
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 [ i hope the other 2 fanciers realise they could have been suspended can you elaborate please Jimmy
jimmy white Posted May 9, 2006 Author Report Posted May 9, 2006 if you get a pigeon reported you must claim it within 7 days or your liable for suspension, two of these fanciers havent even claimed yet, but the pigeons are being liberated in newcastle anyway, so they should get them back at no cost,i.e. return by amtrack parcel delivery pigeon service, which would have cost them,, hope that clears that up for you red ch, all the best j,w,
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Thanks Jimmy, have never ever had a pigeon reported through NEHU or RPRA (thats in 3 years) and very few of mine reported through wing stamps either. One last year, one so far this year. Its disappointing for me.
jimmy white Posted May 12, 2006 Author Report Posted May 12, 2006 their being reported less and less now, its a shame as it could be someones favourite, or belong to a young new starter or anyone for that matter. wonder what happens to them?
