Well the best place for sprint birds must be Keith Arnold, UK sprint champion 2006, 2007 and 2009 and runner up 2008!

you won't go far wrong with Silver Shadows, they'll do both distances for you and very well, check the stats by doing a google, they are usually thereabouts in the big races,.

Different strains win in different parts of the country. I would check out results in three parts of the country for sprint pigeons, those being London/Essex racing North Rd, the UNC & the Midlands.

Sprint/middle distance pigeons are the same beast for me. Up to 300 miles I class as sprint/middle.

I'd say no more than 350/400 for middle, up to 450 max at a push but sprint is 60/90  up to 250

the best ones are the ones that score theres only 2 kinds theones that breed birds that score and theones that score the rest just eat and crap and we all got plenty of them JMO

if looking josh look for the guys who win out of turn  and are out of position  not the coast huggers  bang on the line of flight  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Study the results in your area. See who is winning at the distance you are interested in.

Tell them you are starting with racers and ask if they can sell you a few birds and perhaps some eggs from their best later in the season.

jmo but you'd be hard pushed to get a standard strain to do the lot, for sprint I cross in with de-klaks, for distance I do something else, anyone who tells you they got a bird that will do the lot week in week out and get results are telling you porkies.  Again jmo.

Josh I keep telling people, a good racer will always lead you up the garden path and put in the wrong strain to throw off the competition, if I won with a shadow I'd do nothing more than tell you it was a blue cock out of a totally random strain just to throw you off the scent, telling what your winning with is giving away your advantage, again just my humble opinion.   ;)

shame on you :-/
