p charlton Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 i know what people think of studs but i do like the look of Ponderosa i like the distance stuff
chaz Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 I always fancied trying their Van loons, but seem quite expensive when you can buy as well bred from a racing fancier for less , so I would if I had the £££`s but will have to wait until my Lotto comes up ;D ;D ;D ;D
p charlton Posted April 1, 2010 Author Report Posted April 1, 2010 people call studs lol but if you have the cash you can buy of there best i bet the is not a lot of people who will sell young of there best unless maybe latebreeds
rembrant2coo Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 knowone agree lol I was there in Feb ,and they had some fantastic looking birds all strains were in perfect condition ,there was no smells of, or hint of, any pigeons been kept there it was immaculate photo,s of me and my mate being there in the BHW and the R.P. Around the the south west counties and in the R.P. Down er in Debbin
Guest youngboy Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 well tumley stud jan aardens are sold out. you can only order there 2011 young birds. also heard they have sold very well at blackpool. so theres a future option maybe? :-/ i bought a pair of distance janssens ( again another option ) from them and was really happy with them. i no pedigrees wont make it a great pigeon but it has great distances in there blood so ( fingers crossed ) there youngbirds i have from them will fly the line for me time will tell. all the best looking for your pigeons also .

Guest bakes Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 to be onist i would prefure to go to fancier them self that have won at the distances you interested in and buy from there best instread of studs the fancier them self nows there birds better as 9x out of 10 they have made the family of birds overs years of raceing and breeding best to best to get to were they are today i would look to buy sons daughters from there best if you cant get them but wouldnt go far down the tree from the best birds as the old saying the apple never falls far from tree but all to you own thats what i do. all the best.
swilcox Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 Tony Hayne the owner of Ponderosa is a straight and honest guy and has alot of experience in pigeon racing and a good reputation, give him a ring he is a real helpful guy. Stuart Wilcox
showman Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 Last time I was at Ponderosa, Tony showed us around for a while, then gave us free access to all compartments, catch what you want, and also left us with the loft/breeding books, so we could check ring numbers for ourselves. Class stock and wonderful hosts.
