ninkynonk Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 This pigeon has been in our front yard since Sat morning. We have put food and water out and it has fed well it has spent two windy nights on our front porch roof. It doesn't seem to be injured and can fly onto the roof without any problems but seems reluctant to go. Is there anything else we should do? We have a light airy garage and would be happy for it to be in there if it is more protected/sheltered but I don't want to catch it if theres a chance it will clear on its own. Any advice most welcome. Also not 100% on the number code, as its hard to see without catching the bird. it has a pink disc on one leg and two white rubber bands on the other. The white ones have 2944 (or poss 2911) thanks
ninkynonk Posted July 7, 2009 Author Report Posted July 7, 2009 forgot to say we are in East Hampshire
pigeonpete Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 Thanks for the info, will be hard to trace as the pigeon has a belgian ring on, but is probably english owned, if you do manage to catch the bird, open its wing up and you may be lucky to find a phone number stamped on its flight feathers, failing that if you can get in contained, im sure some one on here will know someone near to who can help collect and help reunite it with its owner, or failing that if you can feed and water it for a few days the pigeon may get strong enough and make its own way home :-) thanks letting us know you have it.
Guest shadow Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 keep feeding it and it should go home when strong enough thanks for careing :)
