Edinbugh Premier show 2008

We were at the Edinburgh Premier show today and as usual we had a great time

Best in show was won by G Summers who was there but his son came up to collect the awards form Jim Black

I have judged this show before and for club show there are some tremendous birds shown at it. Good to see the quality is still there

Excelent photos Dunc, some cracking birds, I see some birds are wearing ETS removeable rings, would have thought that these would have  had to be removed b4 showing :-/ obviously not the case.

In fact I found the opposite comment, it shows that they are racing birds and not just stock birds kept for showing, not all had ets rings on :-/

In major shows your bird is disqualified if it has more tham one ring on.

It may be relaxed because ETS are hard to remove and break quite easily, just my opinion  :-/

Any one can put on a ETS ring. Dont think it shows they have raced. Only shows owner has bought ETS rings lol  ;D ;D

I agree. Think there needs to be a rule set. Either birds can be shown with ETS ring on or not.

Yes they should all clearly state that fact, maybe that's something to be disscussed for future shows.

The reason I commented on the Ets rings, is because every show I have entered, all rings other than original serial ring, had to be removed, this included, coloured clip rings. I have never found it difficult to remove ETS rings from my birds :-/

Cheers Tammy and thanks for inviting us and letting Chickadee judge the show, she really enjoyed it and also the rest of the night, and thanks to Chrissy for encouraging her, she was really happy that she picked the one that won best in show last year as well as this year
