Well…. exciting, what an amazing number of votes, and so close!

Thank you to everyone who took part and voted over the whole online show, and to Webby for taking time out from his studies to put this up on the Web, I know he’s got exams to contend with.

I did think Redcheq’s  red cheq was a great looking bird, a popular vote in the earlier round and has given my cheq cock a close run competition, well done  Also the pair of schouwman71’s  red cheqs in the nest bowl which I rather liked – a good pic as well -

Thanks again.

Thanks Wiley, CS and Ian,

This bird’s Dam is a hen which I bred for Davy White (Now flying with the Arniston club) She won our club’s Morpeth race into Shetland back in 2002, flying the race in 14.5 hours on the day which is a club record which is still there to be broken. She is down from gift birds from Bob MacDonald of Fraserburgh – Ko Nipius Jan Aarden .

The Sire is Herbert MacKenzie of Orkney strains. Herbert is a friend and a long serving member of the Orkney RPC and is an expert at the distance - Hastings into Orkney!  –  The bird is five years old and has proven himself both with local  sprints and ‘across the water’ distance races. He has also bred some fine youngsters, some which are promising and have done well for the likes of Jim Coutts of  Kintore.

Thanks again,

Kenny Gifford
