personally i dont buy into the idea someone trys to cheat for a joke ,the cheat to win ,if this is the case whats the point of having the shows

just seen this and i think those that have used another account to vote more for their birds should have their birds withdrawn for cheating,this in my eyes is dissgraceful and they should be ashamed of themselves.

name and shame them!!..

no excuse for wot they have done and they should own up to it themselves ,at least then we can see they have some decency left in them!

agree totally how can the shows now be justified ,will the winner be seen has a cheat by some people ,myself i will not cast my vote ,but sadly these shows have in my eyes lost all credabillity due to people who want to CHEAT.

 

WEBMASTER should NAME AND SHAME THEM AND BAN THEM FROM ENTERING ANY OTHER SHOWS

Can't believe that anyone would stoop to cheating on a 'for fun' on-line pigeon show. Fully paid-up member of The Sad B*s Society indeed.

 

But all competitions normally contain a rule: cheats will be disqualified. If someone has entered a bird (s) and opened additional accounts and voted for themself under another name (s) then name, shame & disqualify is an apt punishment.

 

That way only the people who deserve to be punished are, and genuine new members aren't.

i have just cast my new votes for the cocks and hens racers.

having read the more recent posts on this matter im starting to wonder if i have done the right thing ?

  could so easily have cast my votes fof one of the CHEATS. i think the only way the show can work properly now is to remove the CHEATERS entries.

i agree with you Steph , youngsters would'nt  behave like this , but no ones got the bottle to name and shame or withdraw the birds, so the real decent people on here lose out, i for one wont enter or vote in any shows posted on here again,

its a sad day for pigeon basics  :'( :'( :'(

sorry to disagree with you all,but i dont think it is very fair that members with less than 100 posts can not vote.i am a new member and new to keeping pigeons and found giving my vote to the bird i thought was the best made me feel part of the community,now anyone with less than 100 posts is being grouped together with people who try to cheat.i would have thought the obvious thing to do if the offenders are known would be to stop them from entering or voting and name them.

 

I personally agree with your comments above, however wanting to keep it a member vote, and wanting to stop the possibility of anyone cheating, the pull between good and evil has left us with a shade of grey.

 

I would like to thank all of you who have taken the time to post on this topic, I have read them all, and have taken them on board.

 

The 100 post count limit was a quick fix to the problem, which needed immediate action (the first figure I pencilled in was post count of 250 :-/ )

 

The nature of the internet, the forum, and member account poses great problems in proving 100% the culprit(s), how ever obvious it may be where cheating has been undertaken.

 

I have spent hours last night and this morning sifting through log files, votes cast, IP addresses and a number of other measures; and can now confirm that 4 birds will be removed from this weeks classes.

 

However as the birds have been voted for again, the suspected birds will be removed when the poll closes (Sunday night); and an independent fancier will judge the pigeons also. A combination weighting of votes and this fanciers opinion will form this weeks class winners.

 

The remaining classes (from now until Blackpool) will continue, and be judged in different way - which I will consult your opinion under a separate topic.
