DOVEScot Posted December 17, 2009 Author Report Posted December 17, 2009 a fiver ??) thats 6 tins of Tennants 717 entries I hear in pigeons 8) Do you have any entered? I am surprised the pigeons are only one day it may have drawn incomers to the pigeon fancy if even they were penned for the two days :-/
Guest Doade Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Do you have any entered? I am surprised the pigeons are only one day it may have drawn incomers to the pigeon fancy if even they were penned for the two days :-/ Not showing Duncan, been asked to judge some breeds of pouters. I think two day shows are too much as we only have small shows here in the UK unlike Europe 8)

I think two day shows are too much as we only have small shows here in the UK unlike Europe 8) The Edinburgh (racing) pigeon show held the birds for two days, this allowed fanciers that could not come both days or one or the other. Just a thought to increase spectators and maybe gain members to the fancy :-/
Roundo Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 To get out of Xmas shopping I decided to walk along with my eldest son to the show and have a look at the fancy pigeons. We spent just over 2hrs chatting to some of the fanciers and judges plus admiring the fancy birds. Not quite the same as the race birds, but still enjoyable. Here are some pictures from the show. Colin.
sapper756 Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Coilin, did you get an early xmas pressie? A CAMERA ;D ;D ;D
Roundo Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Not for me mate, it was the wife's new camera I took with me. My early Xmas present was of the feather type......say no more!!! Who enjoyed the pictures? some really nice birds.

belmont Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Cheers for posting the pictures roundo, it's good to see any pigeon events I like the blue pouter in pic 4. Do you know what won best in show?
john short Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 i really enjoyed the show and liked the look of the wee ferzh???? tumblers.whit a moothfae they are.thanks to the fella muir from airdrie who showed me his entries.nice to meet DOVEscot though briefly.i think it was a great idea to have the pigeon show in conjunction with the cage bird show(as i like both).i do however think it would have been better for both to be a one day show rather than two days for the cage birds.john
Roundo Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Cheers for posting the pictures roundo, it's good to see any pigeon events I like the blue pouter in pic 4. Do you know what won best in show? No probs, it was nice to see the different birds. They were still judging the birds by the time I left. I think they were a bit late in starting the judging, so didn't see what was best in show. My son fell in love with the blowers, thank goodness they weren't selling them. Colin.
