overcrowding birds Blackpool

the pin holes are mite, they live inside the quil and the holes show when the new flights grow, easy to cure by dipping etc so no excuse to not sort the problem.

I only ever bought 1 bird from Blackpool and it was a good few years ago now,it was sunday afternoon and so it was reduced in price and it just caught my eye as I walked past, handled it and it seemed fine, bought it,got it home and a load of red "THINGS" ran up my arm,I had never seen anything like it before or since thankfully,it had looked ok at the show.I think the heat at the show had probably made them breed more but the lights had kept them hidden as they like dark, couple of hours in a dark amtrak box and they were quite a surprise when I opened the box!,in propper daylight it became obvious that practically every feather was pin holed and being january just after the moulting season it meant the bird was no use for showing for nearly a year,it also had to live in the isolation shed for ages and I had to get changed everytime i wanted to go to the loft,it just really wasnt worth the hassle, never again!!.That stand is still there every year without fail and all I will say is their english is about as good as their birds!!

suprised that both the rpra or blackpool borough council didnt have someone going around the show to make sure none of the birds were not overcrwded or in a stresssed state

i saw it he was nothing more than a pigeon dealer selling sh** hope noone bought from him

Unfortunatly every time i went past the stall boxes were leaving it - poor birds and fanciers who bought them should have know better.

We were next to D&T Lofts last year and were appalled by the way the birds were treated and the manner in which they conduct their business. I don't normally speak out on this sort of thing but when we take so much care of our birds and see pigeons treated in that way (not just D&T) it does make my blood boil when nothing is done to stop this happening. I can't understand why people buy their birds from these sort of people but they will keep selling like this as long as people buy from them! Every bird we take is on display from day one with water 24 hours a day and they are fed twice a day! I hope i have offended anyone, if I have I'm sorry but this is my opinion!

defra were in the hall on saturday

did anybody contact the rpra to voice there concerns on the day?

it was one stall out of good few stalls  selling pigeons no need for the rspca or defra just let the rrpa sort it out should have been done on the day but maybe next year it will not be allowed

they will know all about it when defra shut the show down on the frid night or sat and thousands of fanciers lose the heed last year the rules were still in operation about bird flue so that surprises me it was allowed to go on this year no excuse for bad management

I very much doubt if the RPRA will take any action but the best course of action available is to inform them that if this individual is allocated a stand next year we will collectively boycot the show.

Actually when I saw the condition of the birds and the price tag of £25 I thought few people would buy them.

I was obviously wrong

he has kept a low profile since i challenged him about birds being sold with numbers having been ground off the rings!

D & T Lofts i understand are Dave & Tina Rust from Gloucester!

When a guy reported to me he had purchased birds from this stand last year without realiseing about the rings, badgeman was very very defensive about D&T, there is a connection there somewhere!
