I also seen this stand, Did`nt take much notice although thought that the birds feet looked dirty as the bottom

of the crates were full of s***

I walked away at this point, but now thinking about it did`nt see water pots on the crates.

Please correct me if there were.

However should write a formal complaint to Mr Bills to stop this guy next year.

We are all talking to ourselves through these posts. Why not contact RPRA and put your views in writing to David Bils. It is time we made them take responsiblity for the show they organised. If news of all this gets out, and I am convinced it will, the RSPCA will not be so accomadating. And they could make the kind of demands that we would find hard to live with.

Come on Folks.  Give David Bils the job, that is what we pay him for.

I think if you lok back the thread Joe, the problem was reported to the BHW stand at the show.

you and I are on the same page. But we will not get very far if we shout at people to get them up off their ar--. They will just dig their heels in and then nothing will be done.

I am afraid we are seeing the British disease. "Don't rock the boat, we could be labeled grasses". Well for me right is right and I will go to the ends of the earth if I see something I don't like.

I confront Bullies, Road Rage Thugs, and Violent Idiots all the time. The vast majority of which are not worth a second thought. And when it comes to standing by and seeing innocent birds being treated like garbage, sorry I can not do this.

I was one of the first in the show on Saturday morning and saw this overcrowding immediately and said to this guy (long hair) who came up to me and looked in the same basket as I was and I said to him    (not knowing who he was) that's ridiculous all these birds in there and he cracked up and said pointing to the rest that were in the pens are these birds stressed  ?? I then let loose with a mouthful and walked away but after reading these comments wish I had done something about it,  but rest assured if he does it next year he will be in serious trouble as I WILL report it because I will go looking for him . If that's what he has at a show what condition are these birds kept in at home ??? If he  reads  this message I challenge you to get in touch with me mate

Whats the point in getting in touch with you ?? ,you have all criticised this man without a word of reply yet , you have all critised the health of these birds and where is the evidence , i find it hard to believe you all found it unacceptable yet did little or nothing , all you have done is discuss it on here and mouth off about how bad things were , these birds were inspected on both days several times by the powers that be and the sellar was not criticised or repremanded once , people like you critics will be the finish of the blackpool show and then you will have somthing to moan about .

Sorry mate I went to specsavers, I handled those birds, I saw ticks  and lice on them, I saw filthy feet and tails, I saw rings that had been tampered with, I saw overcrowding in the crates and increasing amounts of sh!t in them over the two days, I complained on the Sunday, and I have since reported it to the powers that be.......... The only thing I didn't do was take photographic evidence, more's the pity. APPALLING SITUATION AND YOU SEEM TO BE BACKING IT............ says a lot mate

I dont agree with birds being basketted and sent to spain and france to race points without permanent food and water but i dont moan about it ,what temperatures do racing baskets reach when cooped up in a lorry for a couple of days.

There are a number of people, including myself that reported this excuse for a fancier/feather merchant and i'm sure there will be many of us with appropriate telephone numbers in our mobiles if he's there again next year!

if the stall is there next year every1 of us should report them and keep reporting them till some thing gets done. i thought it was a disgrace and they should never keep birds if they cant look after them. >:( >:( >:(

Best to avoid the stall altogether let him take the lot back home that might teach him a lesson or 2 he might just waken up  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Most birds now travel in air conditioned transport.

Food and water is supplied in troughs inside the crates.

One of these was on show at Blackpool.

Did you not take time to view it?

Birds raced in this country have guidelines as to number of birds per cu ft, The birds on this stand exceeded that by at least double. Also birds are not sent with rings that are tampered with, do not have feathers soiled with sh!t and are sent on transporters with a clean airflow going through them, not breathing in their own stench.
