Dod Posted December 14, 2009 Author Report Posted December 14, 2009 I need some pots what you can put in the boxs so the pigeons dont have to eat of the floor, ive built a tray for them to eat from but it doesnt work well they can stand in it.
Guest lenwadebob Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I cant help you there. You need something like this to stop your pigeons standing in the food http://www.everythingforpets.com/budget_apex_wood_feeder.pet/use.id.5.item_id.1110.dept.141/
pigeonpete Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Hi Dod, please take this the right way, As from experience, you really need to get new drinkers, feeders etc. As second hand ones could give you a nasty surprise which could end up costing you dear in the long run, If you do buy/get second hand, then make sure they are fully sterilized. Only my opinion, And im not taking anything away from the fantastic people on here that would give stuff away for free.

Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 my hoppers are made out of plastic gutters this is cheap and you can wash them clean every day
greenlands Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 my hoppers are made out of plastic gutters this is cheap and you can wash them clean every day It's agreat idea to improvise as you have done,I done the same with electrical trunking it's about 2 inch deep X 4 inch wide,I fit blocks of wood in each end and left the proud height wise by 2 inch ,I then fit a piece of platic conduit the length of the feeder to stop the birds standing in it and also use it as a handle. The conduit also spins if they try to perch on it. I know I'm going back a lot of years but we always kept jam jars to use as nest box feeders with half a brick in front. Lindsay.

pjc Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 A word of warning about using guttering or trunking as feeders, use some edge protector along the sides as the plastic can be sharp and cut the feathers on the front of the bird giving the appearance of feather rot!
Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 ok will have to do it tomorrow as i start work at 6 tonite
