0pensaysme Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Hi all, My name is Saj and I'm in Coventry, i've really just decided to keep pigeons after a 15 year break. I've decided to keep kings and i'm now converting a new shed 8x6 into a make do loft, i'm now thinking of attaching a 6x10 aviary so the kings can have some freedom as we have neighbors with cats.

I joined to get advice in feeding and traing my birds. that's about it I guess. hope to make some friends here, drop ma aline or two Alex--- Semper Fi Loft....
ROSSCO Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 Hi all,i'm rossco at the moment i've not got any pigeons but im hoping to get a team of ybs for next seseon.I've been around pigeons all my life as my dad has been racing in the north west fed for 40+ years.I like nothing more than sitting out the back watchin for the doos coming back.I cant do that anymore as i've went and got married and moved up the road and it's to much hassle going down to watch them,so i thought i might as well give it a go and see how i get on.Everything going to plan i should be flying with Laurieston club next year. That gives me plenty of time to gain useful information and tips from the forum, without which i probably would'nt have thought about keeping pigeons or racing them.A big thumbs up to all the members for keeping the sport alive. ;D

Guest Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 Hi I’m 39 years old, male and from the North East of England (Wearside). I have been looking for an absorbing hobby for quite a few months now and nothing seemed to ‘float my boat’ until today. While visiting a friend of my wife I was looking around the garden while the women chatted and I spotted a pigeon loft. After peering inside for a looong time I was amazed how interesting the birds were and I felt a strong spark of interest ignite within me. After watching the enchanting little creatures (the pigeons, not the wives) I felt an excitement that this could be something that will interest me now and in the future. So here I am looking for as much information as possible on the web (I am planning a trip to the library tomorrow too) to try and find out as much as I possibly can. Just the idea of keeping these fine birds is exciting enough but the thought of letting them out, watching them fly and then return (hopefully) to me is very exciting. Add to this that some time in the future I might be able to breed and maybe even race them is exciting too, although I would certainly be in it for the fun of competing rather than any serious investing in blood lines etc. So I suspect I will be flitting around the forums asking the silliest of beginners questions so please bear with me until my knowledge increases and if I do ask a stupid question just point me in the right direction and I will be sure not to do it again. I will search before posting to try and avoid posting a question asked a million times before but we all make mistakes. So look out for me in the future and hope to see you around the next few days, weeks, years. Cheers KXC PS Anyone else here from the North East of England???

Guest Paulo Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 No worries just pm me on here any time you fancy a look over. You could even come other in september for one of the two droppy back races that are held. Have got a few yb's to send to these to get experience so aren't bothered about winning them so you could come to watch the birds back and see what atmosphere is like on a race day.
