i would say the same thing duramitex on the felts would be leathel breathing in that all day not good i can not even stand it on my fingers must do some damage to the respiretory system.

5 days is when you should put the rings on if the chick looks to have small feet leave it a day or two i start to have trouble getting mine on after 7 days.

the birds dont care what it looks like mate aslong as it does the job nice one ;D

on the first yb race last year we had 30 ybs all we sent back within 30 mins of each other alot of people in the fed had massive losses some with 80 birds a friend of someone in our club sead they were all blown on the coast yet no one in are club had big losses if any at all so i think positioning and weather have a big role in yb losses but personaly i would put it down to people sending birds that are not 100% the person who had massive losses toped the west durham amal with old birds so must know what hes doing so maby im wrong its a mystery.

maccas dogs are well trained dont bother the birds at all good for hunting mice and rats around the loft mine cant even catch the chickens all she wants is a sniff the bulldog that is
