    NFC Lib

Look at the hours on the wing, it shouldn`t be there until 14.52 so it has been clocked before it got there ??????????????????????

    young birds

Had a young Flor Engels cock reported in Durham , but he will hopefully be home on saturday being brought home by courier, so if the fancier that reported the bird is on this site my thanks for reporting him to me, via his wingstamp
  8. If you think you are going to be a fancier and never have to cull , then I think you may need to rethink your hobby choice as at sometime in th future you will find it a must to cull a bird for various reasons, whether due to injury or illness or through trying to keep a type or family, or even when culling excess at the end of each season, culling is part and parcel of the selection process after all if it isn`t good enough for you it shouldn`t be good enough for anybody else so the best place for it is the dustbin, it is how families are created and improved cull the worst and keep the best IMHO
  9. I have just had a Y.B reported in the Durham area can anybody recommend a courier to get it back to the South Staffs area thanks
  10. I haven`t used it myself yet but have bookmarkes it for futute use, http://www.iprr.co.uk/content/pedinput.php
  11. I believe Van owerkerk-dekkers family of pigeons have Tippler blood in them Jacques Van Owerkerk being a successful Tippler flier before moving over to racers and incorparating the Tippler blood in to his racers http://www.herbots.com/chinese/newsflash/news35.htm
  12. Try getting in touch with Micky Lennon of Nuneaton , he had some of the best direct Maris around , try asking chichi off this site he may have contact details for him

  17. I wonder if anyone can help me I am looking for either 2 roller hens or 4 roller y/b`s , I am trying to set my nephew a small kit up and purchased him 2 pairs today for his birthday, but due to an accident (my fault) the 2 hens have gotten out and gone and these were the last 2 pairs from somebody giving up so can`t replace from the same source, I am hoping to either replace the hens or find some y/b`s to get him a start , I will pay a reasonable price and will travel a reasonable distance from Tamworth Staffs Thanks in advance Chaz

    A new start

As can be seen in the pictures , the board folds up and locks in a "closed" position so there is only need to have the board down when getting a bird in , it will not be down when there is nobody in the yard , it is there purely so the door doesn`t have to be opened to get latecomers in if a bird is seen to come home late the board can be opened and the bird given the opportunity to trap, if it doesn`t trap the board is closed up and the only bird left "at risk" is the one who has refused to come in , hope that explains better how it will work, and any cat that is stupid enough to try it on with 3 good lurchers in the yard will find himself in a whole heap of bother

The reason I put it that height is that I was doing it on my own and it was the best height I could get while trying to hold/mark/drill and fix the thing LOL, but I know what you mean it will no doubt cause me concussion before to much longer 8)

I made an alteration after some helpful advice form a few on this thread , I have added a basic (but hopefully serviceable) folding landing board and some bob wires for late comers

    A new start

I haven`t worked out how to trap probably the old fashioned way of open door and T3 but may look at ETS for the future, but will not have a clock set for most y/b races, I will just be sending them for experience as I am trying to build a channel team and see no point in catching and stressing y/b`s when they will have little chance against the sprint and y/b racers , the same will go for inland with old birds I will not clock just use them for training with an eye to the future :-/ Thanks everybody for the interest shown
