Hey i might be daft aswell but i have ran out of grit for a few days maybe even a few weeks without it,and seen no difference in the birds at all.I have wondered how much they rely on it also..
How about this a member of my club got a bird reported by a none fancier and they wanted a fiver to dispose of the bird OR they could pay the fee to have the bird sent back via amtrak.Yes they were going to kill it for 5 pound.

I too am intrested to here peoples thoughts on the darkness systems out there.I darken mine at 5.30 and take down 9am. i put them on the dark when i have my youngbird team weaned, i take them off the dark early july, dont ask me why as its all i know about darkness, its just what a fellow fancier told me to do.Mind you my youngbird seem to come very well this way, always on the sheet week in week out.
smashing birds steve glad you are racing as last time i spoke with you,you were packing in.Steve will you be racing all the channel races and what about the nationals.Im looking forward to the 2007 season as 2006 was very good for me,couldnt stop them mate.
I too have just put 20 youngsters over today and i must say are the best youngsters i have bred in the four seasons ihave been in the sport, they are all doing well looking good eating and drinking on there own,i will have another 20 to go over very soon.Im well happy the way things have worked out almost 100% hatch give or take a few fresh eggs and one or two smashed but im happy.Hopefully i can keep them in good condition and get them settled to there new loft.

SEAN i fly into almost the same area as you mate,i fly in Oddfellows hs in Sunderland, this would never happen in our club,i have taken my son along to basketing and to do the clocks since he was 2 years old, never has anyone complained about him,he has even been a bit loud and running around on striking of the clocks but never told i couldnt take him with me...Farringdon hs should be ashamed
