If you speak to family, friends or work colleagues, you many find that some of them know a pigeon fancier. The sport in this region is quite strong and there is a lot of fanciers in the area. At this time of year it will be a young bird. You been a non fancier, they will probably take the bird and they would know how to deal with the red tape you seem to have gone through at the RPRA. They would either make the owner take it, or take the bird somewhere to where it can get home. Murphy.

NFC Site being a bag of rubbish all day. Now even the main page wont load. You would have thought they would have bought in speical branch! considering it is the NFC. They must be trying to save money. This is our first time flying in the NFC and even though we didnt have a have a good one it would have been real !!!!! to see our names on the Net !!! Live to fly another day.

We got 25 out of 25 from Portsmouth 204 Miles. And got 2 out of 3 from NFC Fougeres, 374 Miles. Must say it wat a dissmal, yet Sunny day, depending on your opinion.

Tony C couldn't be more right.Pigeons don't like east winds and its early in the season so i think you have your answer in that riddle. Our local trainer started yesterday and i was so chuffed when i saw all my comprtition piling thier birds in.Thick mist and east wind i think they may do well at the first 2 races and then they will be done.

Hello Mick, Good idea.I think local feds should do the same instead of going down the road with half empty transporters {does half empty make me a pesamist}.Would be better for the birds,[less liberations, less clashing, fewer losses}transport man and our pockets. But you have to deal with some of the men who dont like change or dont get on with the man or officails of the other organisation,i feel these people are the ones who are killing our sport but try and do something and your a marked man or trouble maker.I think its time the RPRA intervened and told organisations that they WILL amalgamate or face penalties when using a wagon that holds 4000 birds but only sending 2000. What do you think?

Quite right Alf,not the barley cos its barley, probably a bad batch of grain. You should never buy corn before you have seen, felt and smelled to check its ok

Mine from Ron have had 6 hours on wing as youngsters and dont look bothered by it so i dont think they will have problems fo=rom 500+ miles which is what i want out of them
-
Ron Williamson has silver barkers i had some off him this year and hes had them for 30yrs.Mine have flown the full YB programme without mistakes but are not fast enough to win inland but i didnt expect them to be.I bought them to check their brains before i use them as a cross into my own family. You will find him in the BHW earlier this year.Louella do have them but they are bred from many genarations of untried birds and i think they breed them for colour only.Hope this helps. Regards Andy

Come on reply. Let me hear your views

Thanks Ben, I haven't had the problem of blue flesh but i dont fly them out during the winter.I have known people who have this when they are working the birds too hard.
-
Sorry Westy, Should have said why i think thats no good. I wouldn't let them get over weight to start with.
-
He probably did that to get some weight off them but to me thats no good

Hi, Can anybody let me know if we are doing the correct thing? When the moult completes and all birds have fully grown their end flight i use 100% barlry until 2 weeks before i pair up.i feed alot of barley normally anyway.my theory behind the 100% is because like wild birds they are just ticking over and dont require supreme fitness during the winter.my birds look really well and can win shows when fed this way and also do well racing which tells me the winter barley feeding doesnt harm them.just curious to what you think.Iwould like to hear Mike Lyccetts views as i know he is a good fancier. Regards

Hi, At the end of the day the majority of birds for sale at this time of year are crap unless it is an entire clesrance sale and even then i sometimes wonder if they are really to sell. regards.
