Blackpool has evolved and embraced the introduction of the fancy birds,as things change from year to year this introduction i think was good for the show, after visiting houten in NL I think other hobbies could be represented at the show--the place is big enough -and would be another interest to go to see---like small birds --rabbits etc--make this the show for animal husbandry. just a thought.
if you ever end up with a urine infection and feel like ur p i ss ing razor blades and all you want to do is pass water ---then bicarb is the magic potion as far as the birds i use it in the bath water on sunday i think it helps clean the dead skin off .
mark i have been quite a few times --never ever booked always plenty of rooms but some are better than others ,lads on site might be able to recommend one for you,i like to be as near as possible to the show-legs arnt as good as they were .always order my telephone rings on saturday and collect sunday. always plenty to see and last year there was quite a few young birds for sale. dont get carried away at the auctions at the local pubs-some people seem to have deep pockets. remember to go upstairs to see the fancy pigeons they will amaze you,
good club race birds ended up doing 1430s -only managed 8th club but club winner and second were 1st and 2nd fed,my club ended up best club in fed so its the toughest to win but makes you try harder. losses this year with y/birds-started racing 41 birds first race and sent the whole team to the last race -all24 -----------21 back .never lost one bird racing wednesday club 6 bird limit. so the hard job next to get down to nestbox spaces--12 in race loft 4 in stock loft.----------------hate this job.
dirty wattles acompany illness in the birds a lot of the time-and lily white wattles usually is an indicator of good health . look to the eyes as your problem -without pics of the eyes and down the throat and extending its neck by holding its beak and listen at the back of its neck-so treating blind without some info is not what many would like to comment on,but as a stab in the dark first tell us does the watery eyes have small bubbles in the liquid? stab in the dark treat for respitory problem -use doxy or similar for 5 days and watch the others.
