  1. Thought it was something like that but our fancy ones don't have these rings
  2. Look like real rings to me What clues do you have to the fact that they are fake?
  3. Timbara, would you not first be interested to find out if the rest of his birds had it, second get your money back if they do, third keep the bird if it is just a stress issue, forth let the rest of us know the outcome? I would not just persevere and cull in 21 days
  4. Staurt, do you do these pics yourself for the sales?
  5. Naw Pigeon = dove = doo ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  6. THAT IS THE PROBLEM, The differentiating between belittling or sabotaging a sale and some helpful advise. Sadly the vast majority of us don't know if there is underlying problems, history or experience etc between posters :-/ But in the other adage "Hindsight is a wonderful thing"
  7. A bit of useful advice - verified by the Dorset Police . The number does work from a mobile. This actually happened to someone's daughter. Lauren was 19 yrs old and in college. This story takes place over the Christmas/New Year's holiday break. It was the Saturday before New Year and it was about 1.00pm in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend, when an UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put its lights on. Lauren's parents have 4 children (of various ages) and have always told them never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather wait until they get to a service station, etc So Lauren remembered her parents' advice, and telephoned 112 from her mobile phone. This connected her to the police dispatcher she told the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her and that she would not pull over right away but wait until she was in a service station or busy area. The dispatcher checked to see if there was a police car where she was and there wasn't and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back-up already on the way. Ten minutes later 4 police cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground...... ..the man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes. I never knew that bit of advice, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you do not have to pull over for an UNMARKED car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a "safe" place. You obviously need to make some signals that you acknowledge them I.e., put on your hazard lights) or call 112 like Lauren did.
  8. LIKE AS IN ANY SERVICE OFFERED 1 It has to be wanted...... 2 It has to be worth it...... 3 It has to be planned..... 4 It has to be priced..... 5 It has to be adaptable....
  9. Well he is hardly going to say the opposite, by the wayhey did you slip when you were typing this
  10. Correct, and me, I am one of the most honest crooks on here, trust me!!!!!
  11. YES a lot of things have changed since the Coxy saga Not only because it has made more people aware what can happen, but also the fact that Coxy hasn't just put up his hands and say's "ALRIGHT I WAS WRONG AND WOULD NOT DO IT AGAIN" he has tried to change a number of factors to do the same to anyone else. NEWBE'S ARE BOTH LOOKED AT AS POTENTIAL COXY'S AND VICTIMS OF THE COXY'S AND I HAVE BEEN INFORMED HE IS STILL TRYING Noboby for one minute is tarring known members on the site as a COXY and what is wrong with asking relavent questions about whay you are buying. Would you do it in any other part of your life.......If not I have loads of things for sale first £50 gets one, don't worry it will change your life and the way you think forever, guaranteed ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  12. Wasn't being funny, but I thought all pigeons would be home before the releaser, giving natural conditions :-/ I know there would be some that are not but surely the best ones would? There is some areas where this could be done but very few in Scotland, fine if you have a set route than you have worked out, but training in a radius would be harder to do that Yes the routes would be done to be less stressful to the pigeons in the baskets and me having to take them there
  13. I was hoping to buy a trailer that released all the birds at once, then text everyone the time they were liberated :-/
  14. Not everybody has the time, plus some people like to see the birds come in, where as you obviously like to see them released.

    Neighbours

Sorry but that is not the case, an anonymous phone call is all that is needed for the council to investigate, no name, no number given. believe me we have had more than our fair share of it
  16. Do you have pics of him as he is now?
  17. Is that £3 a basket or £3 no matter how many? If I am going to another area with my van, as a favour I release an old guys pigeons for him and text him the time I released them, He does not race anymore due to illness but loves timing in his birds he has left
  18. Lothian, Fife, Tayside and Strathclyde would be a great possibility for a service,50 mile radius of me takes in a huge area, but as you say it has to pay. Anyone wants to do it for free, dad on don't let me hold you back ;D ;D ;D
  19. This was Tammy on Monday morning after his birthday w/e
  20. Thanks Vaccination certifcates re ring numbers could be kept on a laptop to verify they are vaccinated. Is this not done when racing birds as well Everything would be done to meet regulations, but no point if nobody is interested in the service.

    RSPB

Aye and send your experiences and pics of attacked pigeons to http://www.rspca.org.uk/
  22. Basically looking for groups of lofts in a 30 - 120 miles radius it would be feasible to pick birds up at that distance and release on the way home, this would cover the most of Scotland Aberdeen is 120 miles, if I could pick up in fife and release in aberdeen, then pick up in aberdeen and release in fife on the same day. I could really cut the costs organising similar throughout Scotland.
  23. I am only looking at a base figures and then demand for a service. I could make this viable for all, but only if people were interested in a service.
  24. How many does he take altogether and roughly the distance, is that carfrae haddington
