I put external plywood the same size as the vents on the outside as well and put a drip strip on top to stop any rain being blown in

Put as much as you can on the south facing panels, this stops the wet westerly and the cold northerly winds affecting the loft

Easiest way to keep it strong is put a piece of plywood at least 2" bigger all round than the vent inside the tounge and groove, then cut hole out the size of the vents with a jig saw. You can attach wire to the insie aswell for extra security

There is nothing anyone could do. Any rings that are fake are made illegally for one purpose to make money, 1. either to collectors who think they are real or 2. to breeders so they can sell falsely rung pigeons. The first would just be a money spinner for the tool operator or owner, ring collectors that pay a lot of money would see right through it The second would have to be well thought out and organised system and could make a lot of money. It would have to be a breeder with this intent in mind to ring birds at 5 or so days old. the possibilities are endless.

No offence. Just surprised that a five year old would want a certain breed of white pigeon :-/

Unless they are copying rings made for the RPRA then I would think not :-/

Lets face it, a person on minimum wage probably turning out rings. you can also order rings from this country. Wouldn't be surprised if all made in pakistan or china. I used to import martial arts equipment from Germany, Holland and France. Everything except the labels on the German equipment was made in Pakistan. That way the Germans could advertise as made in Germany So I started importing straight from pakistan from the same factories as they used and put my own labels on it

No really Sammy, if not wanted then given, as simple as that. good thing is not a big outlay to try it. Could always stick to what I am doing if it doesn't work. Other people may get an idea from it and make it work
