  1. It is not watery, quite dry looking
  2. It could have been a knock or a peck as it is a dominant cock, always scraping, just worried about it being yellow and cloudy, incase it has an underlying problem, anything good for bathing the eyes :-/
  3. yes it is feeding a young one, could be a draught as the loft doors are never shut as the aviary doors are shut
  4. Chickadee would love these white ones, how much for the pair
  5. Today I have a 03 cock with a closed eye, when I pulled back the eye lid it's eye ball is a cloudy yellow, he has been a great bird and always in ngood health, although he looks a bit down today, any advice would be appreacited I have isolated him for his and others benefit just incase
  6. Best thing is wait till they are almost fully feathered under the wing and make sure they are eating and drinking ok by themselves, although rollers being really easy to home later than that is not a problem
  7. Dinnae worry they never get reported when they get lost :'( :'( :'(
  8. I know because I had two of them, cats made poor tugg ropes they ripped too easy :'(
  9. Do you have any contact details or address please
  10. They are rollers and very easy to rehome, are you rehoming them all or just the chick. The problem I found rehoming is that most people are not willing to pay £30 amtrak for just one or two rollers, best bet is local fanciers or members, or the try the free classifieds http://www.pets-classifieds.co.uk/search.php?action=search
  11. Seemingly the free version is better than the paid for one
  12. Sorry, they just went to Glassfeather's dad
  13. They love them to bits, cooked or raw
  14. Peanuts, but don't overfeed them
  15. 4 THINGS YOU PROBABLY NEVER KNEW YOUR MOBILE PHONE COULD DO There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it: FIRST Emergency The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out. SECOND Have you lockedyour keys in the car? Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk). Editor's Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a mobile phone!' THIRD HiddenBatteryPower Imagine your mobile battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your mobile will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your mobile next time. FOURTH How to disable aSTOLENmobilephone To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 # A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones. This is the kind of information people don't mind receiving, so pass it on to your family and friends
  16. Welcome to the site
  17. I'll second that, Geordie is a dab hand with the duster and hoover
  18. depends if you are going to have an open door system or let them out through the main door and bring them back in for feeding This is what I fitted to Billy's loft while he was in hospital, it allows birds to come and go and deter predators from getting in http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=yDcMCP9g3Uo Have a look at this, not the best camera holder but gives you some idea http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3x_9kdFUnkQ&feature=related
  19. There is only one chickadee, cleans and feeds every day, rain hail or shine
  20. Does it come in white, and when is ma aviary getting split into three and what about ma new loft........never mind a box for your rollers you are too busy, Billy have you taken your insulin and what would you like for your tea tonight Billy :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( Sooner you get banned from that pigeon basics the better :)
  21. Not neccessarily a calcium deficiency, it could be problem continually with the bird or a one off, quite a few times we get a small egg if it is the hens first egg. The bird may not be able to proccess the calcium needed to cover the eggs, no matter how much calcium intake it has, grit is not mainly consumed to produce calcium it is to break down the seeds in the digestive system Billy never fed his birds anything other than best all round or equivelent or cheaper, nothing at all added to the food or water and he had really healthy strong pigeons as some will vouch on the site that got them :-/
  22. Do the chicks stay around the nest site once they have fledged or is it like the eagle they are chased off, if they hang around that is why they probably switched it off in case we see the true amount of birds six of them will consume :-/

  24. As long as they have plenty of air, the mesh at the bottom also allows the crap to fall to the ground and not polute the box with foul air if contained in the box, put a removable tray in for feeding them I plan to make one and will post pics of it as I make it and explanations and tips as well, just like I did with the dovecote
