Who called you a numpty, regards replies on the FORUM; that is what a forum is for debating issues so the part you have missed is we are not slagging or condemning Jamie in any way we are merely debating the issues arising now that we have lost Amtrak as a national courier service who 99% of the time delivered pigeons within a day and on time :-/
If a courier turns up on time to pick up the pigeons at the stated time or more practical a window in time, yes you should have your birds ready to go, If the courier does not turn up then do you leave them in the box till they do, some arriving days late, some not even turning up at all :-/
OK lets have a penalty charge if the pigeons are not ready to go on time then £17.50 excess it is, then fairs fair if the courier does not turn up within the times stated then he receives a £17.50 penalty :-/
Yes you may be an expert in the High street home delivery market but who cares if a wardrobe or a washing machine lies in the box for an extra week, some what different when transporting pigeons :-/
We don't want our cake and to eat it to, but like in any forum you will get praise when you get it right and criticised if you get it wrong
Bye the way if you want there are still some places left in the club ;D ;D ;D

Investment advice
If you had purchased £1000 of Northern Rock shares one year ago it would now be worth £4.95, with HBOS, earlier this week your £1000 would have been worth £16.50, £1000 invested in XL Leisure would now be worth less than £5, but if you bought £1000 worth of Tennents Lager one year ago, drank it all, then took the empty cans to an aluminium re-cycling plant, you would get £214.
So based on the above statistics the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and re-cycle. ;)
