Land line 01 numbers are free for us and a lot of people we know that are on price plans from BT and cable suppliers :-/ All the best, the more the merrier Mobile numbers are free to us up to a certain limit on our contract and I am sure a lot of people are the same, so more choice to customers would help althouth a free call number would be great they do not normally accept calls from mobiles You are right 0844 low rate numbers it is the cost of calling 0844 numbers from a BT land line varies from ½p/minute to 5p/minute depending on the number's 5th, 6th and 7th digits. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=561005 £55 does seem a bit much when other couriers are providing a great service in the £25-£35 brackets :-/
