I have raced the distance in the past and know how difficult it can be.atb. in the coming weeks.
  2. There were some difficult races yesterday with low velo's and some very late and tired birds. How do most of you treat them for a speedy recovery? ie. cabin up for a couple of days, light feeds etc.
  3. Irace my hens wed. and sat. for same reason they have won 4 to date, cocks only 1,they fly well at home but not trained.Sorry about 1st post not used to new format.
  4. Merseyside Fed. Kempsey 89mls-110mls for most members.atb.
  5. Hope all is well after maint. Pigeon Chat never quite the same after their upgrade.
  6. Emptying the loft 12 hens and 11cocks (1 cock at home, still growing tail after hawk attack).
  7. We had a lad in our club who used to get YBS every year but was still the top prize winner in the fed. It was his opinion that the youngsters that got over it quickly where the ones that were topping the fed.
  8. Have trained, just 2 mls Friday afternoon back to the hens with good results (early in season).Feeding, gradual build up with plenty on Thursday evening, Friday am. 1oz in pots, then light feed of seeds late afternoon.
  9. Murray and Mills sell ready made £6-70 per 2.15kg.atb.
  10. Try Qwells, work for me
  11. Yes, good luck to everyone this week-end, we can't all win I'm studying Plan B already.atb.
  12. Hens have had 3-10 mls,1-15mls and today gone on the wagon 40 mls, sunny but very cold nww, cocks just one 10 miler, racing next week-end.
  13. Great start to the season, well done.
  14. I respect your views, in the past I have gone down the expensive road of visiting the vets and on several occasions been given broad spectrum anti-biotics while awaiting test results. I now prefer to have a planned health programme which keeps their use to a minimum, but as you say all roads lead to Rome. atb.
  15. Yes off line since earlier in the morning.
  16. Think it was a school day out, heartbreaking.
  17. Think this analogy is off the mark, if your unsure that your birds have salmonella/paratyphoid why not treat to be certain, it will do no harm if you use correct dosage. I have done so for many years without any problems, at present I use Sulphatrim but 20 years ago I used Florazolidone.
  18. Looks good stuff and cheap enough, well worth a try. Failing that an injection of ivermectin 1mg/bird at vets.atb.
  19. Presume you mean depluming mite? ivermectin will cure it.
  20. Seen this before in a pigeon that had been bitten in the wing by a rat, in that case it was paratyphoid. I would get the bird checked out for piece of mind.
  21. This could be your year Manny, hope so all the best.jmc.
  22. Nice batch of well reared ybs, best of luck with them.
  23. This is most likely to be the cause of clear eggs, my birds are let out of their boxes one pair at a time until they lay their second egg. It is time consuming but you don't have clear eggs and you are certain of their parentage.
  24. Instructions on box of 250mg. 1/4 tablet miss a day then 1/4 tablet.
  25. google pot.perm. gives applications.
