Hi All I am looking at running a yearling 1 loft race next year in 2008. My plan is that the owners of the entrants of the 2007 rpra 1 loft race have the option either auctioning there birds or re activating there birds that are left from the final race from Senna Cove. I would limit it to 100 hens and 100 cocks 3 sections flying back to the Centre system which I fly now. I would buy a brand new 72ft tiled loft set up for just these birds. They would be raced on a professional basis. The cost would be £150 per bird all in. There would be 5 races 2 inland 3 across the water with the NFC or classics. They would be 100, 100, 250 , 350 , 450 miles races. You would have a 1 loft race result and a National result. We would pay out big prize either for the Ace bird or the winner of the final race but the entrants would vote on this. I have more plans on this to come. It will the first in the UK. Do you pigeon Basic members think this is a good idea ????

Like i said before Jason you can still send to the club with ets rings on anyway. You just have a seperate result for the 1 loft easy as pie.. ;D

Hi Jason I belive ETS got passed yesterday by the RPRA and any club will be able to use ets starting from July.. ;D

The ets would put in a simple document on the pc which will upload on your site in no time. I will help you out if i can because i have used ets unikon system the last 2 years on the rpra 1 loft...

Hi Jason Maybe 1 thing that you can do is have an ets system ring the 40 birds with ets rings they can still go to the club and be rubbered on the ring leg and time them in and they could be in the first 3. Then you have a seperate result for the 1 loft with the ets with the times etc, it is so simple to set up. But don`t pack it in now you have come this far. Jeremy..

You might find the 2nd egg will be fertile as the egg shell would not have been made if the cock mated her 3 days before the 1st egg?

Hi All Like I said in a earlier post I have used pellets for 20 years adding 10 to 15 % to the breeding diet. You would only get mould, fungi if they were stored incorrect i.e. in damp conditions I put mine in a plastic dustbin never had any problems. They also have a use by date which make sure you stick to. When they are made into a pellet they go through a heat process that kills any Fungi that were in the grains before hand so you know there safe before hand. Make sure where you buy them from that they store them correct and do a large turn over so they have not hanged around for months in a store. Sajfos I think using Nystan every month is the wrong way and prevent rather than cure. If you want to kill fungi put cider vinegar in the water 3 times a week 5ml to a litre this will keep them in top health. Long term use of nystan will bugger there immune system up..

Hi All Just to let everyone know all the whites have been collected and have only kept 3 pairs for my partner. Just to add i had an appolgie from Coxy as he said he sent the money a few days later well it has been over a week now money never turned up so he really is a true lier. To me now the matter is closed i just warn everyone not to belive anything Coxy has to say. Thats right. When mine are 8 weeks old no more pellets they are on 75% Gerry 25% breeder then 4 weeks before racing starts they are on the old bird mixtures..

Poultry growers Pellets are as good as any but cheaper about £6 for 25 kg they contain everything that they need as they are used for growing poultry i have used them for 20 years with excellent results i just add 15% to the breeding mix.I get mine from Country wide stores.

Hi Wiley I do recommend Dr colin walkers the flying vets and also Dr Wim peters new book fit to win to me they are the best books that i have read.

Wiley Make time to use it properly get some good books etc. Testing for canker cocci worms is quite easy when you know how. Most fanciers buy 1 use it about twice and cant get on with it but it just takes time and practise. Use it every week and you will soon learn.
