How many pigeons have we all had that only ever score once in their Life. With regards to who,s bought the best many factors have to be considered. But we for one think that you should being going for pigeons out of Dual Performers ie: 3/4 Fed Tickets or Silver/Gold Award winners within the S.N.F.C. and even at that only 2% will be any good. :(When a loft is on Form anything can win but how many repeat themselve.
From the attached statistics they are not getting by the 4- 5 year stage.Certainly of the 13 that we have only one has never taken S.N.F.C. Diploma the other 12 have 22 Diplomas between them.Out of the 12 only 2 never raced the Full Programme the rest went to the young bird national.Well ,can only hope that the 2year olds and the Yearlings pull us out of a hole and allows us to retire the auld yins 2010.
Good Luck to All in 2010
Its disappointing at the response to this thread with so many good fanciers unwilling to disclose there numbers.I think it would have given us a better knowledge of the numbers we are loosing and maybe when we decide on retiring our good racers. :(With the ones that have responded you have nothing to fear as it always come oot in the washin.
They dont last long if they are raced and that is when the 98% rule kicks in .If you dont get your Yearlings and Two year olds in form yer last.If yer no First yer as well as being last.
How many pigeons have you got for racing this season and what are there ages.Checked the ETS rings today and we are left with the following:- 03 bred-1, 04-1,05-1,06-5,07-5,08-24,and 09-24.
If joints have been affected i cant see them ever being able to race again and the youngsters in the nest by the time they are 2yrs old will also go down.
