  1. i only used 20 mins as an example, sounds like they are ready ,if i were u i would go when the sky is a bit quiter,when the sky is not full of old birds ,u will have to decide when that is ,and the distance is up to u once again good luck wullie g
  2. hi dave are ur young birds ranging or touring yet: ie: going of for 20 mins or so if they are then by all means put them in the basket,me personaly i start mine at 10 miles,reason being when they are touring they go out further than that. also have u basket trained them yet ,putting them in the basket with the drinker hooked on, this will help them when they start racing to me this is important they must learn to drink on the transporter.good luck m8 wullie g
  3. i think that this must be a first that iv'e heard of the west having an advantage over the east.wind direction and weather make racing and always has.uv just got to live with it ,the wind will change to the west soon,[maybe].

  15. a mate of mine has a stock hen that lays 3 eggs in some nests hatches them and rears them,and has bred some cracking youngsters to win. don't advise it with racers.
  16. could be a number of things go to the vet as planed.i think u bought the birds and the ailment by the looks of it. keep them away other birds u have.good luck m8.

  19. the charity sale at newmains went of well ,not a big turn out ,but what was there was quility, the 35 birds that were there realised £1209-00 an outstanding result that included £60 for the raffle.my special thanks to robert frame billy king and andy frame, last but not least robert mc'naughton for the effort they put in to help and to all u guy's who donated birds and the fanciers that bought them.i phoned my daughter with the result she said i'll call u back i can't stop crying,i'am sure when she adds this to her total it will come to a tidy sum to hand over to marie curie cancer care . once again thank to you all. web site angela worgan marie curie. wullie g

    u will find that they will eat lettuce readily when they are feeding young not so keen any other time. sometimes i give it on the friday before they leave for the race ,great for retaining water in the crop.no salt on it.
