  1. not being funny phillips alot of people are genuinally interested in what the pigeons have bred to see if they can produce winners, and if they have they would have more interest in purchasing birds, because who would want a pigeon not producing winners? People also like to see a pedigree as they like to see the bloodlines and if winners run in there genes, "THE APPLE DOESNT FALL TO FAR FROM THE TREE", hope this helps

  5. http://www.pigeonbasics.com/forum/blah/m-1163113866/s-15/ theres a few on there that may help you, Personally would get a swab test done aswell. The races cannot be to far up the road, the biggest reason for people being so behind is respiratory problems.

not being funny Westy but times running out forn this year, many colleges books are now closed, so i think you'd find it very hard to enrol to a college now! However get down to your local connexions and they will tell ya a few decent websites, on how and where to get an apprenticiship with. Your best chance i'd feel is if you know a family friend or a local buisness in your area, that deals with carpentary and see if they are taking on apprenticiships, as i know most of the colleges books are now closed, you may find the one or two exceptions. But i also know that with the apprenticeships you have to be quick of the mark as i know with a few of my friends, they had to apply for apprentiships way before gcse results came out and had to put down there predicted grades. However all the best and hope your successful in ur search

have to agree with chrissy fresh air should enter at the bottom at the front of the loft, and because air rises the foul air should leave at the top and back of your loft

    bird in

wouldnt be able to clock it, as all rubbers used for the race have a number that must match with the ring number, and if he clocked it and the rubber didnt correspond with any of his pigeons that he sent to the race then he would be disqualified
  18. tony wouldnt be suprised if our feds even went closer, peterborough or huntingdon way things are looking
  19. if widowhood, a light blue, or green or a pale white,
  20. don't use it any more anthony used to use it in the past, but going back 2-3 yrs. However the cinnamon good thing to keep in a cupboard if any droppings do start going wet
  21. also good to keep strong droppings, and is a natural preventative of young bird sickness
  22. I agree got alot to do with there systems, but i bet these people in the past all have paid out what there pocket can afford the best birds avaliable to them, having good pigeons has also alot to do with winning. But the percentage of the system and fancier has increased especially in the sprint and middle distance racing, i think the system has a higher percentage towards the system and fancier and less pecentage towards the pigeon in the sprint middle distance maybe 65% system and fancier to 35% Pigeon. However in long distance think thats a different can of worms, has alot more to do with the pigeon then the fancier and his systems, id say along the lins of 75% pigeon to 25% system and fancier. These long and extreme distances need good pigeons, they can be held over at the race point for example lerwick for upto and systems over then a week, the fancier has had no interaction with the bird, but that bird has had that love of home after being held over for such long periods, then to travel 600 miles, pigeons with big hearts and strong minds win these races and further
  23. lead to believe yeast infections were caused by the sugars in the crop due to sugary feeds such as maize. To make sure it doesnt keep recuring lemon juice with brewers yeast on the corn on return from a race, the acids in the lemons will dissolve or kill all left over sugars in the crop that would then turn into a yeast infection and would affect performance. Nystat is a gd product to use to get rid of the problem or Y40 both work equally well.
  24. Do yourself a favour get intouch with bilco on the site and order 3 sachets of Xerex for a tenner, I would keep the birds in during this period you'll get the youngs 100% better in 3 days, given a few days rest then i would give them a few training spins to get them back on the road, then you could race them. Chin up mate aint over yet
