Out of interest, has anybody purchased stock or young birds from fanciers who have had phenomenal wins over the odds? Have you found your stock or young birds gone on to win or breed winners, I read and listened to fanciers saying I bought Joe blogs birds and they was rubbish, is that because the fancier was not up the mark or was It the birds you purchased were no good, or was there other factors you feel were the cause or other idears why? Opinions please

I would ask you all who have had hawk attack to write to the RSPB and forward me a copy. The reason I ask this is the RSPB claim that only 14% of racing pigeon loss is due to raptors, this we all know is rubbish However I need proof that complaints have been sent in to the RSPB and they have ether not replied or just used stock answers When I have enough information I intend to contact a MP and the media, as the RSPB are hiding behind old outdated figures that Go back over 10years, preservation of raptors is their biggest earner and so they will tell un truths. Everybody needs to play apart in getting the Government of the day to look into what the RSPB are doing. Not only are they wrecking the pigeon fraternity but also the countryside wild life.

You can get it from a library; I read the book and applied his methods many year ago, by using pellets As part of the birds feed they put far too much weight on.

Further to my recent un-answered e-mail, I have spent some time on various News paper articles , forums and the like. They all come up with the same comments, where are all the small birds gone And there are far too many birds of prey; pigeon fanciers are taking the brunt At the moment, were bird losses are high and the racing season has not started. One fancier had a 56% strike rate on his loft, yet you tell me losses to birds of prey are only 14% how was that figure derived. Many genuine bird lovers are ALL saying the same thing when are the RSPB going to do something about the hawk problem and where are all the song birds. Therefore as a genuine bird lover I am making a formal request to the RSPB As to what you’re going to do about this ever increasing problem. I would greatly appreciate it if you would not send me a stock or repeated answer that doesn’t answer my questions

Hi all Found two pictures of me taken 1991 outside my loft after prize night and one of my loft, so I thought I would scan it and Share with the forum. One is receiving the Champion old bird of the year, for my Mealy Cock It was a nightmare carrying all those plagues and trophies home, "the good old days"

This what I wrote to the RSPB. I was a RSPB member, I am concerned about the levels of birds of prey, practically Peregrine and Sparrow hawks and the devastating affects they are having on other species of birds, more so the pigeon all breeds. When are the RSPB going to reintroduce the Eagle owl And what are the RSPB doing to control this problem This is there reply Thank you for the email regarding the birds of prey in your area. Predators like birds of prey in an area shows that the bird population is doing well. If you feel you must deter the sparrowhawk, there are a few deterrents available, although their effectiveness is dependent on the availability of alternative feeding sites for the hawk. Rather than deter them, try to learn to admire the skill and beauty of this very specialised hunter. Bamboo canes on lawn to turn fast approach route into an obstacle course Half-full plastic bottles or CDs hung up in trees to scare the predators away. If feeders are under an overhang (eg under tree branches) hang strings like bead curtain strands a few inches apart around the perimeter of the overhang to slow down the hawk The GuardnEyes scarecrow balloon works by introducing, what the hawk believes to be, a higher level of predation, so that it in turn feels stalked. If alternative feeding areas exist, the hawk may be encouraged to move elsewhere Regarding Eagle Owls, Several pairs of eagle owls, the largest owls in the world, are now breeding in the wild in Britain, according to a new study. But it is unlikely they will ever be considered British birds as they escaped from a large pool of birds kept in captivity. With its prominent ear tufts, 6ft wingspan and its ability to kill birds as large as herons. the eagle owl is one of the most remarkable birds in Europe, nesting from Spain in the south to Russia in the north, but has always been absent from Britain. I hope this has shed some light on your query, thank you for your interest in the RSPB. Kind Regards, I think this answers some questions

Many many years ago we used to have an open race, have they all gone now

Well put Richard, I pointed out to the RSPB about their own contradictions, the clowns continued to write nonsense So it will be nice to see how they reply as they have not done with me. I think they are so use to fobbing people off that someone like you with sum intelligence points out Their inconsistencies these people become very confused and begin to write the same again as they don’t know What to write next, as they have done with me. keep plugging Ps. I buttoned a hawk lover from facebook this morning, had a picture of an hawk on his arm, he must think that is macho

Sent my reply, hope it upsets them.

Richard have you got, Darren Oakley-Martin Wildlife Adviser e-mail address

Well put Oldyellow, have you thought of sending your sentiments direct to the RSPB and print their reply

I have replied.

Richard, isn't this funny, when I repeatedly ask the RSPB to show a fair and balanced view, they will not Reply or avoid the issue. There is one good thing you have got them on the rails, ONE FOR THE FANCIER
