I have put another reply to some person who thinks they know it all http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/news/Rare-visit-real-privilege/article-1943404-detail/article.html#StartComments

I did not see the program, however if you feel that the program was biased and misleading you can write to the British broadcasting authority as a complain, they will investigate it.

Thought you might like a laugh, it was sent to be by a friend!

I wonder what would happen if ALL UK pigeon fanciers kept their birds in during the BOP Breeding time. Would they starve, move away; eat the rest of the wild life birds? As it seems pigeons are the Main staple diet for them. What would the RSPB say then? just a thought.

Take a photo of it and your story post on face book
-
Just missed it, any good

Boy the RSPB must read the same book or they have to be brain washed to work for them Well put letter Richard, my letter has not been answered yet.

Well done! It would have be nice to know how they arrived at their conclusion and what evidence they had to Back it up. I await today a reply from the RSPB for their evidence that BOP are and endangered species. As I keep hitting them with their own surveys that say in 1995 the levels are at there highest.

Hi Richard Many years ago the RSPB claimed that Peregrine falcon did not eat racing pigeons They tried their usual tactics of bull when writing back. The letter was place in the Racing Pigeon paper; a fancier supplied 300 ring numbers from the foot of the Peregrines nest They could not respond to that evidence, they are very arrogant people the RSPB and don't like to be proved wrong But you can see from my posts I have caught them out with their own replies. With the advent of computers And social net working sites more and more evidence can come to light about the dishonesty and the lengths the RSPB Will go to for the protection of BOP at the expense of small birds and other wild life

Hi Richard, you sound a bit like me very proactive, I to have wrote else where See my latest post, at least things are moving slowly but it’s a start, the more people get involved The better, we just have to keep the ball rolling

Thanks all, I am worse that a bull terrier, I don't give up easily, I have already sent a copy and reply from my Last e-mail from the RSPB. To the Daily Mail and I have had an acknowledgement from them. I have also put an article on the Gloucester news paper You need to read this; http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/news/Hawks-threaten-pigeon-racing/article-1297535-detail/article.html Also my contribution; http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/gloucestershireheadlines/Sparrowhawk-attack-caught-camera/article-1328098-detail/article.html

Thank you for your e-mail. With respect I feel the RSPB have failed to answer my questions and concerns In my previous e-mail. As for your comments I am a minority, I am well aware of the RSPB petition But considering the vast resources at your disposal such petitions or possible I will ask you this Sir. Kindly show the other side of the coin on the devastating affect BOP are having on wild population and farmers and the racing pigeon fraternity in a fair and unbiased way Then ask the general public to sign a petition, I feel you will get a much fairer answer. In fact I have read that a national news paper had done a poll against BOP and it was 3-1 for the protection to be lifted as there was to many! As of to date I have not seen any evidence to support your claim only a biased one. What I have seen is evidence the death and destruction caused by BOP. As the internet Is a wonderful tool for information. But I don’t see any evidence from the RSPB to show their decline. I would ask as a concerned general member of the public to send me or point me into the direction of your scientific evidence that bird of prey are under threat. Below are two extracts from a forum you may like to answer. If it was only the odd bird we lost around the loft I think people will accept it, but this is daily. My 6 year old autistic boy comes and messes around the loft with me while his mom has an hard earned rest in the house, I brought a dozen roland janseens (grizzles and pieds) for him last year to get a bit of interest, every time he come up the loft one had been taken on exercise, very difficult to explain to a 6 year old autistic boy that his birds have been taken by these predators, I accept they are about but there numbers are too high. There was a programme on BBC Radio Scotland on Sunday morning. Think it was called "out of doors". They were discussing increased protection for BOP. Also there was talk of "controlling" buzzards. One lady emailed in about the increased protection for raptors, asking who was looking after the small birds, because all the blue tits in her garden had been taken by sparrow hawks. There are other people out there beginning to notice too. Yet you write quote, The RSPB is working to reduce ALL bird decline, based on the best available evidence. The available scientific evidence clearly shows predation by birds of prey does not cause declines in their prey Predation is a 100% natural process. Where is the replacement Blue Tits coming from? Who are replacing the pigeons for this Disable child However you may well like to answer your own contradiction, yet again, quote “Peregrines now breed in many mountainous and coastal areas, especially in the west and north, and nest in some urban areas, capitalizing on the urban pigeon populations for food. The UK peregrines are still under threat from illegal killing and nest disturbance, particularly on land managed for driven grouse shooting. The RSPB is working to reduce ALL bird decline, based on the best available evidence. The available scientific evidence clearly shows. Your own survey, quote: By 1981 and by 1991 most populations were higher than ever before recorded, though not in north and west Scotland (Crick & Ratcliffe 1995). Or are you now saying this is wrong Therefore I respectfully request, would you kindly answer all questions and concerns as I think You are forgetting you are a public funded organisation. Michael

When I was racing I often noticed this in some of my y/bs, one of them topped the Fed. I have always looked for this in my birds as I was told as a young lad that it was a sign of top form.

I have just sent the Daily Mail one long letter and a reply from the RSPB and proof they are misleading the public with their own published survey.
