  1. Should racing pigeons be fed fruit or vegetables as they would in the wild, if so what is ok to feed them? thankyou
  2. Hello I am new to pigeon racing and dont know which type of perch to get. Should i get the traditional box perch or lift off perches like this: http://www.rvwoodcraft.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=33_27_47&products_id=72 thankyou
  3. Well done bob. Thanks for offering to help me last month.
  4. I would like to ask the same questions.
  5. Mobile lorry tail lift repairs?
  6. where do you get the coil rings with your phone number on? thanks
  7. that looks amazing. how wide are the entrances in the trap and how many bob wires per entrance. to let the birds out do you lift up the wires or is there a seperate entrace.
  8. are traps just a "one way" door isong those "bob wire thingys" of so would it be a good idea to enclose a homemade trap in a small avairy with another seperate entrance?
  9. its definately not an avairy, its alot smaller. it is usually built onto the side of the loft, off the ground. i was also wondering if i was to add one to a loft i am building, should it have a wooden or a wire floor, as i am worrying about water settling on it.
  10. Sorry but im new to this, what does that second from last word mean? and if i was going to race them, what should i use? thanks again.
  11. hi, I have a couple of questions to ask. my local food supplier has different pigeon feeds, they have "pigeon corn economix" and "pigeon no bean mix" are these suitable for racing pigeons and if so, which one should i use for young birds? also is there a certain brand/type of grit people say is best? thankyou
  12. thanks for answering my question, i was reffering to the "thing" at the front of this loft http://www.redroselofts.com/starter_loft.htm i have seen them on many other lofts in the shape of boxes or triangular prisms.
  13. This may sound like a stupid question, but what are them things on the front of most lofts called. they are usually made of wire mesh, i think that they hinge open to let the birds out. is there a minimum size that they should be?
  14. Thanks for the offer vallence, goober and his dad have offered me all the help i could possibly need.
  15. Its not really a shed, basically a small loft. 5'x3'x3'high includes a 3'x3' enclosed section with 2 or possibly 4 nest boxes, and also a 2'x3' wire mesh section partly roofed.
  16. North walsham.
  17. Hello, Me and my dad have recently started designing a loft instead of converting a large rabbit hutch, which was our original plan. How could i build a trap? And also, what equipment is needed in a loft? and where do i get it from/ how do i build it? thankyou, any help would be truly appreciated as i am looking forward to getting into this sport.
  18. Ok, thanks for the info, guys. lenwadebob and gooner, i will keep in touch with you guys. thankyou
  19. Thanks again for the offer of the shed, but my parents are only going to let me use up a tiny amount of space in my garden (its already full of sheds, a conservatory, etc) the shed would be amazing, but i also feel that i only want to start off small. I dont think that i have ever met any people as generous as you guys, not just in knowledge but about the shed and the pigeons themselves. thankyou
  20. Thanks for the suggestion, i have just been on Ebay and found a brand new 4ft long rabbit hutch for £40 brand new. the door is 2ft long, i could put some plywood other half of the door and lengthen the "bedroom" by a foot. i am assuming that it will need to be raised off the ground by at least 2ft?

  22. Is it possible to build my own loft for under £60? even if it will only fit 2 pigeons in, i am happy as long as i take part in the sport.
  23. I would like to race them. i have plenty of space in my garden, although this needs to be made as cheaply and as simply as possible (i dont get much pocket money ;D) thankyou
