O.k I will investigate further in the morning, have a funny feeling nature might take it's course tho, is a shame as the would is not looking too bad at all
I have had parathypoid only lost one ,thanks to a quick thinking doo man, all clear for now and having a heavy moult I have one with a previous hawk attack wound breathing like a cat would purr!!!
Some of you may have read the other night about one of my white hens and the big dried up wound on her back from a hawk attack and a dropped wing, well the scab came off yesterday and she was looking o.k but today she is only what I can describe breathing like a cat purrs.I had one of my neighbours round to have a look and he didnt know what do either so i have put it in a separate cage. is this a secondary infection? what should I do?? :-/
I always go see/talk to jimmy with the best intentions of talking pigeons but somehow we always manage to avoid the issue and spend way too much time laughing. He and blaz are back in a wee while so I will try and be sensible although with that pair it will be a task ;D I will do a bit of research on line as wales is a little far to pop in for a book
sounds like parathyphoid to me??? if it is then Baytril should help
send one away for a post mortem to be sure and a poo sample if you know someone quick
Good luck
that's what I thought, cheers. 8)
I have thought of separating them when my new ones come out of quarantine, when I pair them up will they be alright with a diffrent partner as I plan on getting my tumbler a beatcchhh ;)and want to pair the hen with a racer :-/
I like the floating eggs idea as I would like to keep my racers pure as who knows in the future I might take up racing and send the one blaz picked out to the national ;D ;D ;D
Should I give them a nest ? is it too early they seem to be the only ones paired off :-/
At the minute I have my cocks and hens together, only thing is that my only tumbler pigeon seems to be kissing one of my racers and they are sharing one of my pipo boxes (no nests) voluntarily,in my inexperienced opinion they are getting it on I think it would not be a good idea to cross them if that is indeed possible but what should I do? he cock of the loft :-/
Not yet, I havent done much with them as they have been ill and now moulting, this is for next summer.
I am looking for advice on training them up, the furthest they gonna have to go ever is about 50 miles :-/
