a few years back i had a good experience with a young bird it was in the pigeon weeklies etc , my wife's sister and her husband who is a fancier came up from Nottingham and took a fancy to a pair of white birds which were still in the nest but ready for weaning, so he got them, about a year later I was sitting waiting on race birds homing when a white cock jut closed its wings and down on the loft and right in, it had me thinking as i had no white birds away, on checking its ring it was one from Nottingham, so I gave him a call and asked him how he was getting on with the whie ones, he said ok that he had them at berwick today but still waiting on one, so when I told him it was here he couldnt believe it, anyway he sent for this bird , and the next year had it back at Berwick and it homed to him, then he tried it at Thurso but once more dropped into me, so he told me just to keep it, i gave it to one of mates who bred a couple of good racers from it, yes they must have some homing ability ,my club
