  1. I have never seen a THRUSH for ages and they used to be about as many as black birds (which are also on the decline) here its the carrion crows that take them from t5he nests u cannot keap a nest in ur garden for any length of time as they are gone, crows are another bird which is getting well OVER populated, and are in ur back gardens and taking over the beaches.
  2. I think at the moment most members of the public (with children) are getting the wrong message regarding this Avian Flu and racing pigeons, and get a bit worried when they are flying out oiver their areas etc, but it's funny they do not bother much about the crows and hawks and other wild birds which are out in the wild mixing with all, and are much more to worry about than homing pigeons, maybe its seing large flocks of pigeons sircling around, I have lately started to let my birds out just a few at a time.
  3. YES IF THE EGGS ARE CHILLED THEY ARE NO GOOD
  4. good site Darren, lovely lofts, could do with a photo of ur lofts with u for the RP. and if anyone else would like to send me a loft photo and fancier for the RP send it on, fifernews@blueyonder.co.uk.
  5. yes Rose I got a cock the sire of which is "WILLY WANTY" went for £700 and the dam "Crystal" went for £400, I already have "BONNY LASS" which was in the sale lot 61, I now have three of Porter&Richardson birds, so looking for a hen yet, but the one I bought at the sale will be getting paired to "Bonny Lass" which has their top birds on its pedigree including the great "GTXi"
  6. snowy u get birds from £20 upwards which are priced on the pens, u8 can see one priced £50 on the Saturday but if still there on Sunday near closing it could come down to £25 or so as they do not like taking them home, (some of them) the only thing is if u fancy one u got to go for it as it could be gone, in the auctions as Rose said some high some very low, and it is a gamble, at the auction i was at bidding for a bird stopped at a price, then the next bird was its nest mate so the same really, so started bidding again and got the bird for £70 cheaper than its nest mate so was very pleased i stopped at the first,
  7. yes great, met Richard (webmaster) but not many more from the site, but met a few others, managed to get rid of my 36 minatures, and came back with a bird from the PORTER and RICHARDSON Auction, so quite happy getting a cock to go with one of his hens, and it was,nt the one which went for £6,500.
