'OUDE DOFFERTJE' was in fact bred by Anton Lightenberg who is still alive but doesnt keep pigeons anymore, raymond still visits him every year to tell him how the birds are going. He also bred Raymonds stamdoffer the Lightenberg Cock.

Well there is the WHZB who produce a list of fanciers, and top pigeons and there is a competition called the "Best of the Best" these are the two i use for middle distance. The ZLU produce an ACE fancier list also but the best thing to do is look yourself on compuclub. The good thing about Dutch results there very easy to source on the net!!! Stuart

"Quote" The Van Leeuwen & Van Ruyven sale of pigeons look great, it is good to see as sale of pigeons that have won 1st prizes. Also the Lowik Brothers sale where they can time in when its dark eg 02.00, 03.00 flying a long distance into the North of Holland "Quote" As you know i study dutch racing very closely and have to say i have never heard of the Van Leeuwen & Van Ruyven? and i have asked around in Holland and they dont seem to be any wiser!!! As for Lowik Brothers well it might be harsh but they aint in the top 50 of Dutch Long Distance racers!!!! good in there club from what i can read. It seems to me that these birds are brought over as they dont command any appeal in there own country. How many Lowik pigeons are flown by other fanciers in Holland? Anyway there are a couple of big ones, Kees Bosua and he has to be one of the best in Europe and theres plenty winning with his birds, Erik Limburg, has every right to be in Blackpool and has to be No 1 at distance in Belguim over the past 3 years. Verkirk, now these pigeons are in real demand and for good reason, they are winning everywhere. Just how i see it!!! Stuart Wilcox

Tammy I bought the pigeon for £210 and passed it on for a charge of £250. The original price was £550 so you are correct i actually saved him £300 for that pigeon. The reason why the price was so in the first place was it was going through another 2 people.

Lads, it may be better if someone brings me the badges on the Friday, you now what happens, we all have a boat load to drink and end up sleeping in!!!! Luckily Raymond doesnt drink so he can be trusted!!!!! As for me i will only be drinking a maximum of 20 pints on friday so that i can have a real blow out on saturday night in the tower lounge!!!!!!!!!!

I think if we do it probaly and place it in a dedicated area then it could be really good, ofcourse we will need webmassters stamp of approval and help from an IT prospective. I would also limit the auction to 40 birds that way its easier to control!!!!
-
Wiley If you organise it (being young and dynamic) i will see if i can get a few of my european friends to donate something, it will make it a bit interesting. We also have members like Frank Tasker, Chris Little etc so im sure we can do something a bit specail. Stuart

SoSo over priced. £1500 could buy you a pigeon that done and produced himself not living off the glory of his father!!!!!!!!!!! Supplied a pigeon to a fancier in southern england last week that had scored 10 times in the top 40 with between 11,000 - 17,000 birds in races from 130km to 430km for £650, He was bred down from direct janssens and he g-mother was a combine winner 9000 birds etc to me there is no comparision in terms of value. Stuart

Vic Im starting to see your point of view, there are many trying to sell crap and it doesnt really help those who are trying there utmost to do things proberly. Take 1/2 the auction there full of average birds at best and some people just take pigeons to Blackpool trying to catch people out. But i would add that pigeon fanciers are getting very well educated and tend to know what they are looking for nowadays, sites like pigeonbasics see to that. As for profit well its more important that people like our birds because at the end of the day thats what is important, that and our own race results!!!!! Only last week a guy called me to see wether a pigeon he was buying was worth the £550 he was paying for it!!! I made a few calls a purchased the pigeon from the AustrianGerman seller for £210. i made it up to £250 to give myself a little something!! He was nearly caught for an extra £250 so im sorry to say it does happen. Stuart

Im planning an Auction in Scotland at the end of the year for Raymond Moleveld, Gareth Rankin has kindly offered to co-ordinate the booking so thanks Gareth, hopefully the sell will be in lanarkshire (Gareth nentioned Newmains?) So i have 2 questions, Which month would people prefer to see the auction? Which origine of pigeon would most appeal north of the border, or would fanciers prefer a mixture? Familes are Jan Aarden, Hagens, Theelen, Van De Wegen, Kuijpers for the long end. Janssen, De Klak, Van De Pasch, Koopman/Van Dijk, Tournier etc for middle distance. It goes without saying they will all be high in quality and ability!! Please no abuse , many people in scotland have asked us to hold a quality auction so i just need some feedback to ensure we bring the right blood lines. Stuart Wilcox

Your welcome to base a collection at our stand, but it needs to be maned as you there are some bad uns floating about the show.

Firstly Andrew i suggest you dont comment on the selling section as have nearly mess it up seller and buying. In my opinion we are all very have the for sale page kindly supplied by Pigeon Basics and ofcourse everyone should donate to help keep the site running. Late month webmaster recieved a cheque for £180 from myself and Raymond Moleveld, i also know that Andrew and other have done the same! Im sure there a few that hasnt tho!!!! Stuart -
