    G10 Pellets

Thank you for the replys. I normally get boss pellets, but have picked up g10 in error.Just wanted to make sure they were not layers. Thanks Deb
  2. Just purchased a bag of G10 pellets.I opened the bag,to find they had changed from pink to a brown colour. They look more like layers pellets.Does anyone know if there has been a colour change.Or are the wrongly baged. Deb
  3. I put the red stone grit in,which they seem to like.Turns there dropping red,but also firms them up. Deb.

    Incubators

No problem. The brooder I have is virtually the same as most modern incubators.A platic box with a lid, cladded with polystyrene and thermastaticly controled.I should of said that it is a parrot brooder for hand rearing parrots. You can do exactly the same with pigeons.Just remeber to turn the eggs each day. 7. I purchased one for myself, which my husband borrowed for the Blackpool show and thought it was absolutely brillient. It is a mini mate ionic air supply. It cost £70 but was recomended by a friend who has tried most the cheaper ones. Deborah.

    Loft Louvres

no it isn't.I did wonder when we bought them,if there was something missing,as we had to staple stawberry nettng over the hole first,to keep insects out. Deb.

    Loft Louvres

I have recently had fitted loft louvres to my shed. They have realy done the trick. But the problem I am having, is that when there is driving rain, there is quite a bit blowing into my shed. The type we have fitted are about two foot by one foot and they are plastic.I wondered if ther were any that could be closed off when it is very windy.Or better ones I could buy,as these were the only type the corn merchant had. Boddy Ridewood

The new site looks alot better. As it shows wheather an item is in stock.I think the problem is there delivery system.I put in a large order in November 2009 and paied for a 24 hour delivery.I rang a week later, and the lady I spoke to said I should have read the print more carefully. As it state that it is 24 hours from when it leaves the warehouse. After another week I rang, and was told that my order still had not left because they had been unable to complete it.In the order I had ordered blue and red clip rings. But red were out of stock,so rather than send the order, they were waiting for new stock to arive. Boddy Ridewood

I was struggleing to find anyone who had drinker heaters in stock. So I contacted Boddy Ridewood who normally take ages to deliver. But recieved them yesterday after only a week.Maybe some of the bad press from this site has helped them get there act together.Credit were it is due. Deb.

    Drinker Heaters

Thanks for all the advice.Seems boddy ridewood are the only ones who have any stock at the moment.Just ordered three, heres hoping. Deb
  16. Does anyone know were I could get some drinker heaters.I have seen them on Boddy and Ridewood. But wondered if there was any were else I could send for them.As I probably would'nt need them by the time they arived from Boddy and Ridewood. Deb
  17. These yellows and silvers are dilute. As pointed out have no down.If they come from an intence coloured cock.Such as a red cheque or blue, they will always be hens. But if they come from a silver cock or yellow cock, they can be either.Deb
  18. I have injected my birds four weeks ago. Most are now sitting fertile eggs, which I will leave to hatch.I think it is far more effctive injecting all of your stock, than useing exspensive powder treatments. Deb

    Allotments

Were we are the builders are desperate to sell.As much as 30%off.So I dont think they would let a couple of sheds stand in the way of a sale. When we bought our house, they were selling quite quikly. But they only seemed to be interested in making money from you.Had we not got permission,Icould'nt see them being that interested in inforcing the covernents once they have left the site.Unless there was something in it for them.Good luck Deb.

    Allotments

Just a thought. We moved into mew build ten years ago,and took the birds with us.You would'nt beieve the amount of covernents that were imposed, even as far as not being able to park a carravan or works van on the drive over night.Strictly no sheds or green houses alowed. But the solsitor told us that the covernants were imposed by the builder and permision could be obtained,at a price. We have it in writing that we would be allowed two sheds as long as they could not be seen from the road at the front of the house,at a cost of £270 each pluss vat and a small admin charge from our solisitor. We moved in,got the birds settled, everything was going great till we decided to erect a conservatry. We were told we would have to take it down as it clearly states in the deeds no conservatrys.Back to the solisistors.Yes you have guessed it,£270 pluss vat and admin everything sweet again. Five years ago two others have started with pigeons and canaries without permission. The man with the canaries has had complaients due to the noise. But the council are not interested as they are private propperties. And now the builders have left they refuse to get involved, other than sending him a letter telling him he must apply to them for permision.AT A COST
  22. We have had a rat coming under the fence. It was the largest rat I have ever seen.My husband has been putting traps down, but the rat has ignored the traps and fed from my neighbers bird table.Afte about a week of this,we removed the traps and let the dogs wait for it to return. My terrier flushed him out and my wippet snaped his neck. The next day the wippet caught a pregnent female, and the terrier dug up a nest of seven babies from under a flower bed.Another week and we would have been over run with them.I normally dont get them going near the sheds or in the garden. But with all the snow I have been keeping the dogs in.I think we all need to be on our guard.Exspacially when food is scares. Deb.
  23. I normally use Chevi Vac-S But have used the colomvac this time, with no ill efects.Far cheaper and more efective than Para Stop. Deb
  24. I am intending going to the Darlington show tomorow. Is anyone in the Darlington area that could give me an update on the wheather conditions. Thanks Deb.
  25. Just had one delivered from boots. But far to big.I was looking for one of the small ones that I have seen fanciers wearing around there neck at shows.Boddy and ridewood have them, but I wanted it before Christmas. Deb.
