thats good just need agood family of proven distance birds

im moving up to blackpool & having a loft in the garden is there any pigeon clubs in that area also is there a national flying club up there too as realy wanna go for the distance racing as i work away & could prove difficult to race on a weekly basis although the birds will be trained very well as work in london. also what are the best distance birds to get as im having a brand new start apart from a few from my dad cheers all.

what about when distance increases whats the best feed? i normaly feed up around 1oam then give em some seed around 2.30 to 3pm to encourage them to have a drink anyone else do the same?

got all home bad returns mind last one came today had 3hard races recently

are there any left as i have some ijerkamp janssens & commander bond lines looking for others to cross in also a a good busshaert hen to go with a cock i got from shadow already this year as a yb he got 2 1st & a 2nd

he just keeps on coming his hen just laid this week too!!!

it doesnt mean a stray is a bad bird for looseing its way they are many different reasons,weather,clashed,or as ybs simply just get there heads down & dont stop till knackerd leaving them too tierd to get home im sure we all at some point have lost some or even our best pigeons from time to time

just wondered if anyone know of any companys who have either a web site or contact details for a new loft im having one built in the back garden later this year & wanting some ideas,also pictures so i can show the neighbours & the other half to show what it will look like to keep on side!!! ive seen the pictures on here what other members lofts which look great,just want to know who made em ect

im thinking of down sizeing & puting a loft in the back garden,do you need planing permision from the council or any other restrictions on doing this

heathrow very dull grey day with north westerly wind

its ok racing in the week but what about the guys & girls that work mon/fri takes all the pleasure out of it think be best to either south road south east/west routs go sat and north road go sun also try to stick to lib times bit like air traffic control

thats great providing your going that way sure will save some dosh if you dont intend racing em as ybs i sugest you take em friday afternoon when everybodys are in the basket

hope such little training you get them all 33back from there first race i believe short tosses first of all to get them to learn the homing instinct without circling

its ok not racing ybs but i do think its important to get them to at least 140miles by training which is ok if you know someone who can take em!!

great idea for south & north roaders to be let go on different days but what about birds that fly from east to west? north & south roads are fine if theres a wind from the south or north leaving one to fly high & others to fly low bit light aircraft alot of losses last weekend as no wind leaving all birds to be flying at same level think when to race programmes are agreed lib times should also be agreed to stop clashing & have a central area were controlers can ring if weather is bad & lib times are disrupted abit like air traffic control

think its always best to give them as much racing experience as possible maybe stoping some if you need them for next yeariwould always get them to at least 140miles before stoping any & if they are coming well with a bit of luck winning then keep em going
