  1. read a good article in BHW, a fancier puts 1 drop of OLBAS OIL in each nest box, he said helps the birds breathe a bit better & himself, i tried it this morning, & after work popped in the loft & could still smell a slight minty smell, oh well better than garlic i suppose. ;D

  8. maybe you get good pigeons with a certain(good eye) and you get good pigeons without that certain good eye, & i suppose you get rubbish pigeons with that same certain eye? i think its just the breeding. ie: get a good human athlete with blue eyes, & a rubbish athlete with the same blue eyes? just my opinion

    our old dads ?

our old house (an old victorion house, 3 story) that we all grew up in, in handsworth, HAUNTED! for sure, my brother used to always be laffing when he was a kid, my mom used to say who you playing with? "BARDIACK" he replied, he lives over there in the green house(opposite our house) took no notice, any way we only delved in to the history of that house since we all left handsworth (after mom & dad died) guess what,? the green house opposite turned out to have been a vicarage (a polish vicar) only had a son fall out of the attic window! YES! his name was BARDIACK!, A TRUE STORY.

  19. peckedhen, put your pair in the breeding loft & lock them in a box together with the bowl, now they have paired up, put some straw/hay in, & observe as much as you can from a distance, & make sure the others are actually pairs, buy putting in another few nest bowls in different locations, hope this helps

  23. another pair has laid their first egg this morning, got home from work & martin(westy) noticed an egg shell on loft floor, looked in the pairs bowl & egg yolk in bowl, so parents must have broken egg by accident & automaticly threw the shell out of box, as they do, so hope the next egg is ok, its the first year for the cock of this pair & i know sometimes they can be a bit clumsey? any advice appreciated
  24. thanks bruno & jim, update: mr nasty is now in other section now, as his missis has laid her 2nd egg this morning , so fostered them under poor mr & mrs westy, they have taken to them no probs, but mr westy is still a bit rough & im still a bit worried bout him, but he is eating a bit, & drinking a bit , but not very much :-/ so just carry on keeping a CLOSE eye on him, & already has started gaining a bit of confidence, BUT! see next post
