  7. aye your right frank, i know its a great feeling to have the first doo in the club no matter how much is sent, thats fit hooks the young lads about the sport/hobby but i think its more, its about the lads wanting to keep doos, its a great hobby and you just dont see it happening these days, how many times have we had birds that were extra and we said to ourselves, if their was a lad he could have these, they are just not there, not interested, ime lucky my oldest has been into them since he was ten and comes with me on the transporter and liberates so i am lucky but i just think its all to money money money, no hobby these days. davy.
  8. hi thomas, the light is fine but if they are yearlings , watch for egg bound , sitting fluffed up not interested , cold weather does it, a bit early if your not sure, new pairings they will all be different, have patience your a wee bit early , dave
  9. hi rachid, great vid, it would be good to let go the doos in the cardboard box first to see how long they took to find their line, just a thought davy.
  10. fair enough frank, good comments but dont go encouraging new starts to be treating willy nilly itll just bring heartache thro poor doos and expence, if they get birds from diff flyers then they keep them as best they can and learn and try to do things the same time all the time but if maybe your late the doos will soon tell you, doos are creatures of habit, they like routine and they will be fine with good corn and fresh water, nothing will put of a new start more than having to ask for money to buy medicine, jmo
  11. ill go along with djw, as for you roland geez a shot o yir cristal ba please ha ha .
  12. just my thoughts on this thread,i dont normally treat for anything apart from the usual vacc every year the doos always look top notch and train very well upto the first race with very little losses,i dont have money for vets bills and i think were going the wrong way for encouraging young lads into the sport with little money, i used to have closed in loft for different systems but have learned over the years that wide open is best and healthiest for flyer and birds,i know a very well known flyer whose loft is wide open to the elements and who doesnt start his birds off until 250ml is reached thro club, totally natural but a keen eye always picks out the weak ones without putting this in the water or that, advice to new starts on this forum, keep your doos asd natural as poss and dont go running and asking dad for money to buy the next best thing, look after them and theyll look after you, good corn and paitience thats all you need. davie.

    Xmas Quiz

    cock jannson all hens
  14. shweet. if its new pairing youll have a mess , if you pair them in a box then yes have an upturned nest bowl so the hen can escape the cock, he could be aggresive, closed in if she doesnt comply then he could peck her bad, old pairing then no problem should go eggy in a couple o days with bowl up, good luck.
