sorry to differ but i have a white grizzle hen that won northallerton 237 mls to me on 1207ypm two yr ago, sent to rotherham ,home late in dark, more red than white,ripped open from neck to under wing,stitched up and rested for the year, told by clubmate that bird was useless for racing due to hawk strike, however 2008saw her race programme up to rotherham again re paired ,sent chippin after comback racethornton 102mls to me then sent to hastings, fair enough no card, just out of race time ,might be too slow, but what the hell, she has got guts she has bred me four y/b all were white grizzle, none home after 150 mls, is it easy target for hawk or maybe too slow,you tell me;;;; :-/ :(

we had same problem with old hen going off legs after laying,it wasnt the coldbecause it was mild at the time. gave calcium grit,left to sit,soon came right,funny thing, did the same every year till i moved her on. :-/
