THIS BIRD CAME INTO MY LOFT TODAY 19.11.07
  3. I am trying to give this man/club time to respond to what went on at this AGM but he eithers seems unwilling to do so or is gathering his thoughts, which ever is previlant!!!!!!, but if my information is correct he has also been elected president of this club?
  4. i understand that another member of this club has now tendered his resignation in light of what happened at the AGM.
  5. I thought a response from a regular contributor of this forum would have responded by now, either to put his point of veiw across or to clarify the postion within this club.
  6. i have personally know this fancier for many years, he is a an avid club member aswell as supporting the federation with sponsered pigeons ,raffles, judging etc and also is one of the few members who actually help at Race markings at open events, and yes he has been our clubs highest prize winner for the last 4 years.
  7. 6 members were not leaving their mother club but were joining a second club, and isnt strange that the member in question actually helped build the club house the new tenants are refusing him competing in
  8. Sorry maybe not clear enough, the member who resigned was a member who was supporting our applications. not the member objecting, and applications are to be withdrawn by us and excepted by the president
  9. At a recent AGM there was a strange decision taken that makes you wonder, who is actually running the asylum. 6 members from a neighbouring club wish to join said club, 5 are excepted 1 is not? Why i here you ask!, a member stands up and says if he gets in then i am out, no explaination to the rest of members at the AGM, and none asked. The result being 5 applications are withdrawn along with 1 existing members resignation. It seems a strange way to attract new members to an already deminishing club!!!!
  10. While i agree with your comments, and most other comments raised, the situation arises that we are told we intend to joint convoy because it keeps the costs down, (which we have done now for numerous years)the officals have had prelimary talks with other federations, so if they have had there AGMs before us we either have to accept their race programme or raise the cost of birdage etc.
  11. We are all asked to turn up and express our views, idea's for the forth coming year ahead, only to realise that Race programmes, Routes etc have allready been decided, and they wonder why there is such a poor turn out at the AGM's

  14. gonna send me some details of your libs sitses for this year and anything else i could use to submit a proposal for next year , cheers
  15. so you have now got a reason Bruno, so why go there!
  16. Yes Bart these points have also to be taken into consideration, but if you look at Bruno's reply, they had all the facts before them last year and even our Race controller telling them that there was a problem with the Ripon race point, Is it ME who is missing the point here!!!!!!
  17. Can i ask the question then, why were we at Ripon last week if we had all this information available to us!!!!!
  18. so our transpoter isnt being used to convoy the national birds?
  19. i totally agree with you fairplay, but as you say these things are here to to stay, we have to come up with the solution, we cant afford to sit back and do nothing.
  20. spot on Alex, this jump was done ( so i am told ) to enable OUR transpoter to be used for the national on the 8th sept! Makes you think is it the tail wagging the dog here???
  21. we have about 18 members in our club, there is only about 5/6 going to the open next week due to either being cleaned out or keeping what they have left for next year.
  22. After yesterdays race, i feel that it is time for a change.I personally have lost 20 birds in the last two weeks,( all raced out of Otterburn, approx 90 miles) and i am, by all accounts not alone, we have persisted in racing down this East side of the country, for a number of years now ,because of the Raptors, down the middle of the country would cause havoc, i have never lost as many young birds before flying down this route! and we all know now, these birds are everywhere. We are told it is cheaper to convoy with other feds because they are down this route!, so money before welfare of our birds.Almost ever fed in the country is on the east side of the country, which race on Saturday's,( our last race we had over 10 feds at the same racs point) so clashing is inevitable. The race controllers have an almost impossible task to get the birds into the air with the weather, other libs and and depending on the location the time factor of birds getting home. The solution ,I PERSONALLY HAV'NT GOT THE ANSWERS, nothing is full proof, but surely we could look at either Scottish feds race Saturday and English feds Sunday,( or vice versa) Midweek racing for Young birds! Scottish birds racing from the north?, anything to stop this happening ever year, I dare say a lot of these ideas have been looked at before, but personally if this kind of self distruction continues, i wont be around to see it happen.
  23. One of our club members had a youngester reported in Kelso, (only 4 miles from race point)he duely went down for it yesterday as it was reported by an non fancier who works at a grain store type place. He was told the place is full of rung racing pigeons, but can only catch them when they go to roost, he also brought back 7 NW rung birds and released them at Polmont yesterday,
  24. Yes, i total nightmare for Race controllers, yet we do it ever year, you would think a bit of communication between feds when deciding Race programmes would be a possible solution, or am i being to naive?
