Every bird has different capabilities in my opinion, I was on holiday last year and a friend was training my you racers, i had forgot to remove a self red hen and a blue ck however after 2 weeks training to 40 mile they had returned every day and since then they fly with my race team, mite even chuck them in as trainers up to 120 mile to see how they perform, however i think race birds have r far superiour OOPS forgot to say Horseman hen and ck lol

Makes you wonder why should i report a bird, i posted this then reported to the SHU which they responded by e-mail and contactd the owner as yet i have had no contact from the owner, i do not want to contact shu again as it could possibly get them in trouble. If anyone calls me about a bird no matter where in the Country i make a call and try to collect it no matter what part of the UK. Nice wee hen as well and been out by mistake but cam back in, sometimes ask myself why should i make the effort to trace the owner as very few people return the favour i i have lost loads.

Geordie if you bend the flight and break the quil it then dies of and is not so painfull on the birds, it is like pulling a dead plant from the ground it comes out easier, would you like your teeth pulled out without any anasthetic?

Best way to remove the cut flights is to fold them back and break the quil them leave it for a few days before pulling it as it is not so painfull or coz stress to the bird but do not do them all at once. Hope this helps mate

Hi I was contacted by a non fancier that were given my phone number due to the above bird being found local to me, the bird was picked up on the street and is very light and weak, I have it in a basket and will try to bring it back up. Scotty M

Hi Martin I have checked the NPA standard book but it does not have any details, check the rings that are on your pair and let me know what the letter is, If it is B i have some left over from previous years, however if it comes to it we could order the correct size through myself as i am a member of the NPA then you cam transfer them. I will call the guy that has them. I will have you showing them soon ha-ha Scotty M

This was mt first year of joining the SNFC and I was surprised when 3 diplomas came through the post as i never expected any. All arrived in perfect condition. Scotty M

Well I traveled to the Lancs show yesterday which was held in Clitheroe and a good day was had by all. Five certificates were given out to the Horseman and I took all five. AC Bar was won by my Blue Bar Hen AC Cheq was won by my Blue Cheq CK Black Was won by my Black Hen Grizzle was won by my Blue Grizzle CK AOC Self was won by my slef borwn hen. Richard Greenwood won best Blower with his Brunner Pouter. Scotty M

This show is up thr with the best but due to me short numbers in young show birds this year i will not be attending so took the decision to go along to a local show in Scotland and show the old birds along with the few young uns.
