Sending 25 to Fermoy 176 miles. The darkies are starting to loose their cover feathers so i will be stopping them as they do. So if you are a pigeon in my loft you better loose the feathers quick otherwise you will have 3 weeks left lol

I would not rate my season very highly as well, although we still have 4 big races left so you never know. Ybs 2/10 Obs 5/10. Looking foward now to end of long season and the shows.

Agree with BANDIT, the ones that win and keep coming. Have to admire J Donalson from Peterhead. Looked at his results and again this year he wins (i think) 2 x Section G from the distance sending 4 - 5 birds. Top Man. Noticed one of his bird was clocked twice at the distance, one race 400+ the other 2-3 weeks later 600+

While waiting for late Talbenny birds a hen dropped on the loft, got her in and checked her number. She was one of my old birds GB 08 C 60665 - Lost a year and a half ago!! Someone had her in as she was in fair nick and two flights to go, WHY?? Not Happy! Again up on Sunday morning a Young bird dropped from 4 weeks ago out of Rosscrea, ETS missing and a fresh rubber on??? Not Happy. GB 09 L 00438 At 12 o clock a further Old Bird arrived GB 07 E 69587, From ST Malo France in June. This was reported by a Liverpool lad who was on holidays in Wales in June and picked the bird up and rang me. he fed and watered it but not back to now. I can only pressume it came over with the Talbenny Birds on Sat. To the Liverpool lad thank you. Happy!

Have to agree with you, ours were basketed yesterday at 5pm. Ridiculous!

I have raced the birds in the photos up to 304 miles but only really started concentrating on racing the YBs of them last year. Have came steady enough so far. I have this years up to 176 miles so far. I have schooled some out over the last 2 years and they have won and raced well. Lady Marie herself went as far as Skibbereen 237 miles.

She is the mother of the 4 hens in the pics and Mr H is her brother. She won Best in Show Dublin 2 years running 900+ birds both times.

Would make a difference actually knowing what way they really cleared instead of the usual "the birds cleared well" which we get every week - good or bad.

It would be nice if someone on here could actually watch the liberations and tell us what they were really like and post the findings on here like previously mentioned. It is renouned for hawks and would be great to hear if the birds got away without any attacks at the release point. SL
