  1. cheers for the replies, and tonyw, yes im o.k mate, and yes your blue cock was 1 i had in mind mate, was going to ask you if you thought he would do it, but he is only 2? any further input? a svr cock timed from 700 miles?? wow there is hope yet then :-)
  2. Roland like i said yesterday, i very much appreciate your help, and genorosity, And i love the way you have gone out of you way using your time and effort to try and help. But it really is not necessary. It was my fault really for not checking they were secure properly, I have had a fantastic offer of a build of new traps by duncan and carol, and numerous offers of ybs next year, so i will be fine roland, please dont think we are ungrateful, that is not the case, If you do send me any money i will only donate it to Ian makays one loft race :-) I will bounce back, not sure about jordan, as he was not speaking to me after his mum told him all his grizzle stock birds had gone :'( once again much appreciated roly :-) If it makes you feel better you can breed me a pair next year ( must be grizzles though )
  3. Nice birds mate, :-)
  4. Morning folks, thanks for all the pms i recieved yesterday, very much appreciated Right was 18.20 when i got down there last night, was nearly dark anyway i had 32 birds in the stock loft, 14 old hens/yb hens that were raced this year, they were all in with the cocks, 1 injured, hawk/wires? to dark to tell really, so out of the 18 stock birds had 2 of the roland jannsens stock birds in with old birds and 3 out on the stable, managed to catch 2 when it had gone dark! the other flew off in the dark :-/ so got 4 out of the 18, with the 3 dead :'( well hacked off, but suppose it was my fault, looks like must have had freak gusts of wind, the other trap was over the hedge (smashed) and other was on floor. they were only attached with the hooks they came with (never been a problem for 4 years) but must have worked lose over the summer with heat, and first bad weather, winds, ripped them off? So another lesson learned. Its bloody hard work this pigeon game :-/ Never mind, such is life, keep plodding on, Now as for the stock birds i have lent off the people on here i will pm you all with my appologies, and i will pay for any birds that have not returned, I feel awful about this, i really do :'( My son said he wasnt bothered, but i can tell he was.
  5. cheers mark mate!
  6. Havent got the time mate to keep seperate, and just wanted to do it with these 3 for now, never done much with the hens, so would be less confident with the hens :-) it is my aim in the future to go into it in a bigger way, but yes agree, a sprint loft and distance loft would be ideal ;-)
