What anti-virus you got? I had a free anti-virus once, and it prevented me using smilies, can remember off the top of my head, but that is deffo your problem mate :-)

They should be at the bottom of your screen when you reply? Just click on them, Some anti-virus/pop up software will prevent them form working, but you should still be able to see them? Bottom right of your screen?

Are you allowed to take birds on the train these days? Honestly have no idea :-/ Must be someone near to you who could help? I would if you were a bit closer mate.
