hi folks, hope all are well, my first post for nearly a year i bet!! has anyone remembered me or missed me? i bet not lol, anyway my input for what its worth, i think we need to treat all our pigeons as individuals, people are very quick to condemn a bird, rather than blaming themselvs, pigeons react in very different ways, at different times of the year/distance. for instance i have 1 bird, that when i have tried to motivate him, by putting another cock in with his hen and locking him out, he didnt react very well and went very shy, tried different things with him along the same lines, and he was always near last and reluctent to go in, i know now it really upset him seeing his hen showing to another cock, and he sulked, ibet your all thinking now what a load of bollox!!, but i was near to killing him! but i thought i would try him with his hen all the time, last 3 races, he was first bird back every time, and won 2 x club firsts and 1 2nd, and was in the top 10 in the fed all 3 races, so this year im going to try and treat all my birds as individuals, i only have 16 cocks, so it will be easier, and yes of course they have to be fit and disease free aswell!! hope this does someone some good,
pete
