  1. So sorry to hear about Max's passing Jimmy. After 30 years, loosing such a special friend must leave a big gap. He sounds to have been a real character and I'm sure he will be missed by everyone who knew him Sue x
  2. LOL ;D ;D I think they pluck them Phil - feathers all over the loft floor!
  3. Just been to check and my Logans all have bull eyes. No feathers on their legs though! :-/
  4. Or this - another 6x4 with a sputnik taking up most of the length. I have perspex on the top of the sputnik but the sides are mesh so there is a good airflow through the loft.
  5. Happy Birthday Chickadee. Enjoy your night out. Sue x
  6. I am becoming very confused .... I advertised once early in the year and since then have been inundated with requests for birds. Already people are asking for 2009 birds...I would not class myself as a professional seller ...am I one? :-/
  7. They might not fly better but they will sell better. ;)
  8. Good result Sam...way to go!
  9. NE Lancs cloudy, misty, light south westerly breeze.
  10. Welcome Norlan - good to see more from Lancs. Welcome Bricky/ Welcome Whiteracer - do you fly white birds only?

  12. OK we have posted at the same time....so you would just use food as a motivation for the birds?
  13. I thought that I would be able to run a dove release business from a dovecote....... my problem was catching the birds as they were not contained in the dovecote. :-/ I do know someone who has little doors on his, with which he closes the birds in at night, that might be one option but, you will also need to devise a way of catching the birds when they return from a race. I don't see why you couldn't adapt a homing cage so the the birds can trap back into the dovecote but not get out.

    Any Ideas

Mine were edgy and loath to trap once. There were cat paw prints on the sputnik so, presumably the cat had been looking at the birds, at some time, before I let them out. Little wonder they were reluctant to trap.
  15. This is fantastic news. Billy is so lucky to have such good friends as you and Carol. Keep on fighting the flight Billy. Suex

  19. Hi Hab , thank you for caring for this bird. I don;t have the knowledge to help. There are a lot of American rehabbers on this site who will be able to advise you. Try here: http://www.pigeons.biz/forums/index.php

  21. She may well pay you another visit - she knows that you provide a good hotel! I imagine that she was weak and lost. After all your care and feeding up, she regained the strength to go and search for home again. Thank you for looking after her. Don't leave the forum, I've enjoyed your posts. Sue
