  1. I agree. C'mon Gangster, give up the day job (or night job ) and cover the whole country! ;)
  2. Sounds like he's pretty special to you huh? There's only one was to make sure you don't loose him, don't let him out of the loft. ;D Give him the best chance of returning - check the weather forecast and, if in doubt, don't send.
  3. Congratulations Jimmy. Sue
  4. NE Lancs. Bright and sunny with fairly brisk WSW wind atm rain forecast later.

    very sad

Oh you poor souls. So sorry to read this. :'(
  6. Great photo and lovely to see the birds so tame with children who I know don't move slowly and carefully a credit to you.
  7. Hey Dozzie -= don't apologise, you are doing a great job with this little pidge. And you haven't messed his race up at all....... if he didnt get home within a short time, he's not going to have won! ;D He's either got lost and too tired to continue or has hurt himself so he can't fly. Hopefully someone will help you to get him home now. Thank you for all your efforts. :)
  8. I use a clove in a 7 litre drinker whether they are feeding youngsters or not.
  9. Well done Dozzie. Now, if you'd asked me to catch a horse.......... : : Is the water in a deep dish? Pigeons need it at least 1/2" so that they can suck it up. All we need now is to read the ring number - and its always facing the wrong way when you want to see it!!
  10. A bit of hay in the cat basket would be ideal. If you just put your hands either side of him and hold his wings in (but don't squeeze him too tightly) he wont be able to flap. Dont dither - just go for it! :) BTW I am scared to death of horses after being bitten by one as a child.
  11. If he's not roosting too high up, you should be able to pick him up soon - they don't fly in the dark.
  12. Great photos. I had a youngster, about 12 days old, rear up and take a peck at me today. ;D
  13. Terrible news.... yet again. > > ] I thought this too but, would an experience d fancier stab the birds??
  14. Lovely birds. You can't beat the sight of whites flying against a clear blue sky.....if only we had the blue skies more often!!!
  15. Low cloud but clearing and sun beginning to break through. Wind about 5mph from west.
  16. Should this thread be a sticky? : ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  17. Think I said this once before a couple of years ago.....a boat with a straight keel will plough through water a lot faster than one with a slightly warped keel. (I used to be a sailor ;D ;D) Surely this would apply to birds through the air?? :-/ :-/
  18. Ermm, yeah, I said so just two posts about yours!! ;D ;D
  19. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  20. Use a measuring spoon - those you get with medicine or wife's baking set!!
  21. 5 cubic centimetres. There are 1000 cc in 1 litre. 5cc is the same as 5ml or the same as 1 5ml spoon (about the size of a teaspoon.) oops too late!! ;D ;D
  22. R.I.P. Terence. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Sue.
  23. OK right, I'll do that because he's done a lot of fighting today - he wouldnt even let a hen in with him.
  24. Thanks Mark, I'll do that.
  25. LOL ;D ;D I need it Jimmy - I have just been out in the dark to lift the birds into the dovecote - the resident cock seems to have taken possession of all the holes and he wouldn't let the newcomers in! : :
