The show will begin on Saturday 19th and finish on Sunday afternoon 20th January just like Matthew has already informed you but a lot of fanciers arrive in Blackpool on the Friday 18th as there are quite a few auctions and sales taking place in various venues throughout the town. These auctions will continue for the duration of the show and is an alternative option than spending the entire weekend in the Winter Gardens.

So where the pigeons that were stolen and being offered for sale to fanciers around the hotels, I would say the rings would have been offered at a cut price for anyone showing interest.

Its sad that this is happening most years now at the show. Most people know that this is carried out by organised thieves out to take advantage of the large gathering attending the show. Sadly it'll be the pigeon fraternity that will be blamed for this.
