i have flown on the darkness system for the last .. 2 years,if you want to win this is the only system to use,i won 6 young bird races last year on the darkness. i darken my loft down from 5.30 until 8.30 in the morning. feed them high protein food until the moult finishes and then the same as the widowhood cocks.no problem with them as yearlings at all.on the later races you will hammer the natural birds.took the first 6 positions in one of them.if youve got the time go for it.

i also have a son of joner a red cock and he is a absolute cracker, hes bred me some beautiful young birds this year. class pigeons.

i actually sell pigeon corn and layers pellets, the pellets were £5.50 for a twenty five kilo bag they are now £6.25. the price of corn has gone up a lot, especially versa laga. we actually now sell Gem pigeon corn from brian wall. the resting mix is £7.70, breeding is £9.35. we have a mark up of only £1 on each bag.everything has gone up even horse food.basically everything that has wheat barley or maize has gone up in price.we were told by the suppliers the reason was the bio fuel. corn being bought and exported for that reason.

absolute crap,a total waste of space.phoned amtrak last week to pick a pigeon up from scotland, they sent a fax to the depot, bird NOT picked up.phoned the depot in scotland, the depot had moved 3 weeks previous. the cardiff branch didnt even know they had moved.phoned the amtrak main office, gave me a new number which i had to relay to cardiff. suprise they still didnt pick the pigeon up.

having seen the quality of the birds that were on show at the Welsh show in aberdare ,whatever was offered would be great. well done stuart and raymond.
-
personally i would go for the brasspennings, brilliant sprinters,a friend of mine races them on NATURAL and he can win no problem, but its all down to feeding and good pigeons,FAT pigeons will never win races, find a system that suits you and stick to it.dont overfeed.

you sound a wee bit jealous to me mate!!!!!!!!!
-
i can assure you that ALF did not as you say mooch the parents of the young bird, the birds are or were my stock birds and i put them on this website for anyone to borrow,ALF was the first person to reply and he had the birds. the sire like ALF said is out of a south east national winner and the dam bred a yearling fed winner this year, besides other federation prizewinners . Good luck next year ALF.

count me in as well.good idea.

we get our corn from court farm and the prices have gone up,the price of wheat last year was £90 a ton and is now £150 a ton,and most of the grains are being exported abroard for the biochemical companies. versa laga has gone up as well by at least 60 pence a bag,but that was never cheap anyway.
