  1. Always wrapped cotton wool around leg then used lolly stick, cocktail sticks or similar depending on size off bid, tapped on for 4 weeks, obviously if leg is ring leg then you need to keep an eye on swelling as ring may have to be removed. Ment to say used iced water before splinnting.
  2. Pencil pied cock Double grandson of Superman (Louella strain) Fantastic pgeon, has flown channel countless times rarely out of the clock (2003 bird) Blue cock 507 the hardest pigeon I have ever had, ALLWAYS homed shot, hawked etc. 100% Eagleson Busscheart. This bird will also face up to my dogs!!!!(2002 bird) both now put to stock.
  3. Ofcourse you can get red or mealy Busschaerts. They are a strain that he built up , but no pigeons are 100% true they are a family he made by various introductions, as are ALL pigeons. Look at John Crowder adds, Does anyone know about true Busschaerts as much as this man!!!!!! Anybody can call any birds their strain if they are doing well, and long may it live. This sort of thing makes our hobby, sport what it is. Pigeons be pigeons, the good may continue and the devil take the rest. That is why the Greyhound suffers lesss deformaties than the show type dogs, just my personal oppinion but only the fittest should survive........ Shoot me if you wish!
  4. Sorry mate, but got to agree. Heaven is the kindest place for it!!!!

I personally use builders lime in the water for 2 days,(fill up a plastic bucket with water the night before and put in 2 good splashes of lime powder) Never had YBs but if any look offy I use the above. Also get 1/2 heads or more of elderberries soak them and use in drinkers. Biggest hit of vit c on market and fantastic for respirotry, (p.m. for mix etc). Sambucus Nigra The medicene tree..........! All challenges on above welcome, but remember you CAN NOT beat nature, we are traveller family and still use some of the old recipes for health etc ourselves

Get a working (Laguna line etc) whippet pup. Born hunter/killers on all vermin and fantastic rabbit & fox dogs. Not bad on big winter hares(before the ban!!) Mine loves pigeons (except woodies) and is allways in the loft.

  14. Cleared today after 2 weeks rest and food IHU 06 S 042720 Dk. Chq. Cock. Fantastic looking pigeon. Really hope he makes it home.
  15. Surely the RPRA would hold a record of who now owns the rings and any future transfers should be through them. When I made enquires through the RPRA about WHU & NWHU pigeons i wanted to transfer they told me as long as they are registered with the appropriate unions I did not need to register the transfer with them as well.
  16. I use Natural pikstones and dryed seaweed (gathered from a clean beach and dryed on washing line) never had a pigeon go fielding and I live out in the country.

  20. About 3 years ago had a 2 year old IHU bird from Co. Kerry in, Owner said it was it,s first time over the water and he did not think it would return and would I like to keep it as it was of good stock. I trained it singled up from every point of the compass, even across to the brother in law,s at Neath. It was bang on every time. When I started training it with mine it was fine, one day I went to Andover (10 mile) and took the birds, Iwas 3 down plus the IHU chq. Got a call that night it was back home. Its transfer was through that very day!!! Had to transfer it back. Was I just getting it fit? Or did something click in it,s head, I thought I had a winner in the making!!
